In better news we have landscaping sorted starting Wednesday. Got lucky the guy we liked had a cancellation. Can't do as much as we would have liked but will do for the next few years at least. All this post handover stuff sure adds up. Blind quotes on Tuesday, will do pendants and fans through Beacon and air conditioning closer to summer.

Now just waiting for some of my favourite stores (Retrojan, Freedom, Adairs) to hit EOFYS sales

Oh and I forgot to mention the PUPPY! Haha have to have $$ aside for the puppy

We've built and renovated 3 houses, all of which have had builders cleans... none of them have required us to clean them...

I'm a neat freak, and in our last build, went over EVERY flat surface with a damp cloth, and didn't pick up dust on any surface. Every window was spotless, all paint was perfect.

When w did our inspection, we had about 4 things that needed fixing. Door weather seals pecked out by crows (not the builders fault, but he saw it before us), a toilet roll holder with a screw missing (out of 5 toilets), and a couple of squeaky hinges...

A sh1tty clean and p1ss poor excuses, trying you you're too picky aren't acceptable when you're spending the amount of money you guys are...

Also we just realised tonight the towel holder in the bathroom, toilet roll holder in the WC and hand towel holders in both haven't been installed. Amazing how easy it is to overlook such things. The hand towel holders may be a lost cause because I can't see where on earth we'd put them (but you'd think they'd have thought of that before we paid for them) but we definitely want the others!!!

Add that to the two incorrect taps that were installed earlier & now fixed and I have a bad feeling we'll be picking stuff like this up for a while

I'm thinking going through the selections item by item may be necessary in case we've missed more stuff, although the SS should have done that himself.

Yeah we were peeeeeeeeeeved. We definitely picked them, I even sent a screenshot to our SS

It's been great having all the docs in Dropbox so I can search them.

they have no idea what’s going on, when its going on, or have any idea how to manage a customer expectation..

I was told by someone fairly senior that the reason they stopped having essastone is they went into receivership and the "boat [with the crystal chalk] got turned back". Which is funny because Laminex/Essastone is still very much alive and bringing a new range out this month. Hmmmm.

I was in World of styles a few days ago and was told the reason they switched to silestone was because the Essastone was having too many faults post handover and was felt to be an inferior product.

Day one's finds

First actual night in the house tonight. Ducted heating is great but floorboards are freeeeeezing.
Our estate has only patchy mobile coverage (calls as well as data

) and Opticom have a backlog and can't do the fibre to the home connection until 28 June... then we have to get iiNet out. This is BAD lol. Am going to try a prepaid Telstra mobile broadband because Vodafone clearly no good here. Oh, and Opticomm charging us $350 for the privilege too

Yup finally they will finish off the painting maybe tomorrow and then fit outs next week and riling the week after. That is hopefully what they say is happening is actually Gona happen lol and stone getting replaced this Friday

Neither was a problem at PCI ... the downlight must have been when they were doing the previously nonexistent insulation. Stupidly we didn't do as close an inspection at handover, we were just checking the PCI stuff was fixed

who knows what to believe...
from what i hear its the tradies that install the stone that create the faults. ie chips,etc
its all the freakin same anyway isnt it
