Thanks for the tip on the Silestone. Got in contact with our BC and she explained it all. Will pick our new stone over the next day or so. BC has had a large backlog of people to call and so is doing it in order of those who need to know ASAP - I get it. We have a good BC so no problems at my end regarding the new stone.

The house build, well that's another story :/

With the rain coming this week I'm expecting our plaster to get wet and therefore get replaced in the coming weeks due to not being weatherproof <sigh>. A never ending pile of problems.

thats a real bummer for you guys, i feel like we will cop this when we are due to start in july also.
i have my fingers crossed that you also dont go through the stone delemia where the replacment for certain colours is really not comparable, or you dont have to upgrade to get what you had prior.

We are sorting out our new Silestone selection today. My wife is heading over to WOS shortly, but we have a choice of one colour really as we had Essastone Bone White selected and the only real match is Silestone Blanco Zeus Extreme - great name

. Is a no cost change which is great.

Keep an eye on the plaster and take photos of it wet if you can. We had plaster go up before bricks because they were late being laid and they didn't replace and it def got wet!

I guess that's good and annoying news.. It sucks how they only give short notice for those dates. But not long now!! When did you start your build?

We started a couple of weeks after you - our brickwork starts next week with luck

Yeah very annoying for the short notice. We've said from the beginning we needed a months notice and had I not called he wouldn't have rung me he was waiting on the office to send the notification

Site scrape was 11th December I think and slab poured 7th Jan. Contract ends 25th June.

If they hadn't screwed up the windows and ordered the wrong replacements we would be in now it was tracking so good.

Lots left to do, retile parts today, paint, front render colour, driveway and Windows

Late? You could say that. It's taken nearly 3 months to fix the slab and frame issues - remaining slab fixes are supposed to be happening this weekend then the brickwork can finally start. We shall see. It's been a nightmare from when the slab went down.

Are you doing driveway through PD? If not did your SS let you pour the concrete before handover?

Oh my goodness I forget you've had such bad issues! That's terrible it's taken that long to get a resolve. You will be well and truly doing a happy dance when they start the bricks.

Have they done internals?

Knowing the office at the moment they would probably send it through after the date it should have happened haha.

No we got pd to do it so that we could move straight in. More expensive way to do it but no delay to move in

WOW just got off the phone to my BC to finally claritfy the contract date... it is actually 196 days (including public holidays and weekend/same as I HIA contract) which brings us to 17th of August which is 2 days before we go to Thailand!

The 153 days that they advise in the start build letter is construction days which doesn't include weekends or public holidays which takes us to an end date of the 12th of September ... such a big difference. but she advised our best bet is our SS which he has advised end of July/Early August ... so fingers crossed it is end of July so my husband has time to do the electrical and we can do our heating cooling concrete and fence and then while we are away the tiling can happen. oh god after a relaxing hoilday looks like ill be going through the stress of moving in.. was hoping it would be the other way around haha

That's also assuming everything goes to plan.
We were 8 months behind the contract date by the time we got to handover.

Oh no way!! I would literally scream! So far touch wood everything good and no major issues. Why such the long delay? That's just crazy

So after the home theatre room ceiling leaking water a few weeks ago, it was identified that there was a rip in the DPC and last weekend a brickie came out, took some of the brickwork out and inserted new DPC and bricked it all back up again.

Yesterday someone else turned up to repair the plaster board in the home theatre and the master bedroom that had been cut out to identify the DPC issue, only when he removed the cut sections of plaster (which had been temporarily held on with tape), it seems that everything is still soaked and that the DPC doesn't seem to have been the issue at all.

Plaster has been put back in with tape, Supervisor out to look today and I've now been told they're going to spend most of the day there on Monday with a few different trades to try and work out what the problem is.

While I'm glad they're attempting to resolve the issue, I'm annoyed that it's another item to add to a very long list of issues we've had with the house. Will the problems ever stop?

We are off to look at some tomorrow in hope to get some measurements to provide to them as we are getting the provision so we can set up post handover

We got one all the provisions done for it for post handover. Cheaper way to do so

Friends put provisions in with pd. Pd was going to charge them $13k for fireplace they ended up paying $1700 for provisions and then got fireplace installed after and cost them 6k.
