Have already started discussions with accounts about the penalty fee (after receiving my final invoice 1.5 weeks ago even though my house is no where near completion) and how it is handled and have been told it is worked out at handover and they will send a check 7 to 14 days after handover.

And yep, we have asked all 5 of our site supervisors for an end date plus the BC in writing, in person and over the phone but still no answer.

Re the final invoice - we received ours in advance too, the impression I got is that so you're ready to go and have your finances in order by handover

Bench drama is over. Many thanks to Melanie for stepping in and truly putting the effort in for us today, grateful. We're going with maple (on the right). Porter Davis does have some good eggs in their team! Probably their most efficient & friendly staff member I've dealt with in the past year.

Now I can sleep! Lol

Does anyone on here have pot draws under your cooktop-what does it look like?

PD want to replace my top pot draw with a fixed panel to allow room for gas connections -but i would rather they just shorten the drawer depth to leave room for the connections behind the drawers. Has anyone else come accross this issue? Thanks!!

Why cant I get a fixed site cost on my quote? And why is PD estimated site cost, cost twice (40K) that what other builder like Henley and Carlisle fixed site cost (18K and 19K) to build the same square of house 33SQ single storey? Please help. I want to build my dream home which is the Madison40 double storey, but ended up doing single storey because the estimated fixed site at PD jumped from 20K when I was receiving my first quote and jumped to 40K at the end of the track. Please help.

So I really want PD can help me here. Match the fixed site cost so I can build double storey, or I might just walk away and build with Carlisle who can give me a fixed site cost for only 19K for the exact same size single storey house that PD estimated for 40K.

Every builder operates differently...

PD quoted us $65k site costs, yet Dennis Family were prepared to fix at $18k without even seeing the property, out understanding our flood overlay

Carlisle and Henley gave me a report on their findings. And they are very happy to fixed it for me. While I have no idea why PD dont want to fixed mine. While my friends and some on this forum who also build with PD has been given a fixed site cost since the very beginning of the quote. I wonder why.
I am somehow stuck with PD because I did not smart enough before I made deposit. I didnt go window shopping to other builder. Since the very begining I was so mesmerized with PD. But after i told my friends with such estimated site cost, they told me to go window shopping, and I did and i was terrified I am being charged double the price I have supposed to be paying.

I went to Ikea Springvale yesterday to check out benchtops. Their Silestone range includes:
* polar cap
* starlight
* alpina white
* bianco rivers
* blanco norte
* cemento spa
* ironbark
* coral clay
* lagoon
* white storm
Blanco matrix
Tao
Lyra
Tigris sand
Yukon

The ones with an asterisk were on display in a kitchen. At least I think they were - none of them are labelled! The others can be viewed in a piece that is about A4 size. I don't know how this list compares to those offered by PD, as we are yet to receive any info from them. At Ikea they are all the same price.

We had chosen new crystal salt. Polar cap is close but more white and grey chips with some reflective silver bits. Blanco norte is also close but has definite pink beige tones. I think I prefer polar cap but I'm not sure about the silver.

Someone from PD called me and try to explain everything, but at the end of the conversation, they cant give me fixed site cost and ask me to wait until tender. So sad but I guess I have to make sure my plan B with other builder keep on going.
So if on tender, PD fixed the site cost at more than 20K mark and the total cost of building 33SW house with PD become way more expensive because of their sitecost, then I guess I will have to go with Carlisle.

So sad, because I really want to have a PD house. And if the sitecost got fixed near the estimated they give me, then 20K difference is simply too much for me to keep building with PD.
But thats life, we can't always get what we want. And I simply cant have a dream house from PD.

Anyway, thank you PD for try to explain things to me. Let see whats gonna happn on Tender.

The bed you're getting is just an amazing fit for it too, can't wait to see it all come together for you, It might be chalk & cheese to our scandi look but I just love your style !

Actually had a think about it and it took just under 4 weeks for the bricks .. A very long time but with the plaster only taking 2 days it has pushed everything on track ... I hope haha

Hi all

I know youve had some success with reaching people at pd when your just not getting a response. Who is this and how do we get ahold of them???
Weve had enough. The standard of service is appalling. We have been given a fill in who is not only hopeless but is never reachable. Only ever emails if at all .. they never make sense then refuses to answer their phone... the other person is just as bad. My husband has left messages for the manager who also never called back.

How can they say this is acceptable service.
No matter how many calls or messages left we just get nothing.

We are really regretting this decision and are fed up!!!
