We're heading there now. Our clutter style can best be described as.... lazy ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Porter Davis homes 12406Apr 02, 2016 11:26 pm So the Masterclass was actually really awesome, staying tidy has never been our strong suit (read: drowning in stuff) and we wanted to get a handle on it before we moved, we got a lot more out of it than we were expecting too. Things like don't start by attacking the clutter itself, focus on your vision for a room (ask "what do I want *from* this space") then work on what you need to do to achieve that. Back to our place, we've had a lot of discussion about the kitchen bulkheads. I reeeeeaaallly don't like the way the wall colour breaks things up, which will look worse when the tiling is done (white subway tiles bricklayed for the splashback). We're going to ask our site supervisor if we can get them to paint them the ceiling colour when they do touch ups. I'm seriously regretting not getting the cupboards up to the top now but not much we can do, at least if we can get the colour more uniform I'm not going to be fixated on them constantly. We paid a lot for the high gloss cupboards, would be a shame to not be happy with the kitchen. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You can see the monument-painted alfresco poles here. From a search of local companies, we can't find much in the way of a solution for the corner, when we really do need to maximise that space. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I get where your talking about the kitchen bulk heads.. Personally I think to paint the same colour as the ceiling may be the right thing to do I like that idea. As for your wardrobe space try Pinterest honestly that app has been amazing for ideas. I repainted then in ceiling white, and they became a lot less apparent... But we also had square set cornice... Not sure how a proper cornice would change the appearance... Easy enough to repaint that little bit once you move in if you're not happy with the look Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Porter Davis homes 12410Apr 04, 2016 6:31 pm Had Opticomm out today to do the FTTH install only to find out that Porter Davis haven't installed the underground trunking to pass the cable from the street to the house. As such the engineer presented me with a $97 failed installation invoice and went on his way. When will the problems with this build end? We handed over 3 weeks ago and are still finding problems on a daily basis. At apps on Friday we discovered the wall socket for the gas hob was too far from the plug for the cable to reach, the heating system was broken, the heating has been zoned incorrectly, the external socket for the hot water systems wasn't working, the stone benchtop in the kitchen hadn't been cut large enough for the gas hob and the solar hot water return feed has been covered over during the bricking, which means someone now has to remove a load of bricks to try and find it. Re: Porter Davis homes 12415Apr 05, 2016 4:40 pm KDR with PD... help has anyone else had an issue with OHS costs during their tender and contract.. we have a situation where we know clearly what’s being said is rubbish, and we have questioned each section. at our tender last week we were quoted in excess of $15,500 for OHS. after going through this we advised that one of the points was around having deliveries within 6m of power line.. rubbish! we got the tender presenter to go and speak to someone about this as we could demonstrate from the plans that this just wasn’t even correct... $5K WAS REMOVED!!! today... after reading numerous forums and previous experiences OHS as well as slab upgrades is more likely where these builders make their cash... we have since called our council to question why we would need full road closures in a quiet suburban, WIDE street... surprise surprise we were told that our council DO NOT NEED this traffic management they talk of...at the day of tender they couldn’t even tell us which council we were in!!! which made us question how they can even justify such costs ($6600) my husband has been speak without our BC who has got back to us today, telling us that in order for this to be waived or looked at that WE need to go to OUR council and get a letter from them.. what the actual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn’t this their job, why are we being force to run around and do a job that clearly they never did. Let alone know full well that we are being ripped off and unless you question everything get totally ripped of.. we are furious and about to just pull pin and walk.. the hoops we have had to jump through from day one and we haven’t even started building.. anyone experienced this or can share some info that will either help us just pack up and move or of persevere. Feeling absolutely over it Re: Porter Davis homes 12416Apr 07, 2016 3:06 pm For those of you that have taken handover... How was the site left when you got the house? PD are very particular on what it must be to start, and we've had no control over it since, but it looks like what we are going to receive is one heck of a mess. I understand as per building regulations all building debris must be removed, but is the site meant to be scrapped, the crossover cleaned of all the dirt and rubble or do they just leave it looking like a derelict yard with a jungle of weeds? And no, we still haven't had handover and still no definite date in sight. Essentially 3rd PCI today with still so much to do/redo. Frustrating for our SS but particularly for us, so many things need the trades back again to do properly. You're not going to want to hear this but I looked back and we had slab poured on the 30th of Jan and bricking started on the 23rd of Feb... our place is a lot smaller & we don't have stuff like ducted vacuum but you're coming up 7 weeks since your slab went down, right? Even with your site supervisor away his boss (area supervisor) should have taken over in the interim, that's what's happened to us. According to the site start letter bricking etc should be done by week 8 approx so hopefully they hop to it soon! I'd be escalating it if you have any more delays. Yes that's correct our slab was poured on the 22nd of feb our official site start date is the 3rd of feb and I received specific outline defining how many weeks each stage would take.
