Nothing from a site supervisor? I only know his name and his number by looking at the sign on our temporary fencing. is this normal? do you hear from yours a lot? Hi thewoodies, the expected build time frame varies across our home ranges. I would also like to clarify that the build dates are calculated from the commencement of works onsite i.e. day of site excavation. Please PM me if you have any further queries relating to your build. Regards, Joanne. Wow, that's not what we were told (re build time starting at onsite works). It's not a biggie but is slightly misleading. Site supervisor will only contact you once you start framing. Slab supervisor takes care of everything up until frame stage. So site cut, plumbing, boxing, pour and any ground work around the slab. Whilst they won't validate if a H1 is required or not, the independent inspector will ensure the foundations for your home (slab) is as per code. We did it and will for all future builds. Also helps keep the builder honest. And for $600 approx, well worth the sanity of knowing your foundations aren't going to cause the ruin of your home. Good points made by some posters - thanks in advance. Not sure if we should go with World of style or do the lighting/carpets/tiling - by ourselves through private contractors. I note the prices at world of style is quite expensive. Lighting alone is going to cost us 20k. Not to mention network cable wiring etc. What has been everyone's experience - did you do it yourself, or just pay PD to do it. Do they mark up prices? Any demolition companies advice is much helpful - Melb Eastern Suburbs. Very excited at present.
