Hey does anybody know if the porter davis NBN pack does include the NTD?

"The Basic NBNCo Fibre Pack (including Enclosure) is $1,432.53. This package includes x3 Phone or Data points throughout the home and the WSC (cabinet) on the wall in the garage. "

I'm going to presume it doesn't, though nobody seems to know or if they possibly do, they dont return calls :/ ... what have other people done to get the NTD installed faster or before completion, I hear this NBNco is retarded... and takes months to install NTD's.

I thought that when u sign up to an ISP and they do the install they supply the NTD... BUt i may be wrong

Does your land show on the nbnco map that its connected to NBN? My land has NBN in the street, and the developer has confirmed its nbn enabled, but Nbn co hasnt actually connected it all up to the network yet. So might wanna make sure that is all done to avoid any delays

Nah, pretty new estate, it hasn't got street's on the map yet, but its listed on the nbnco map in brown with completion date meant to be oct. My ISP couldn't give much more details either, still class 0 on my lot and they cant see exactly why. House only just hit lockup but.

NTD is installed by NBN upon request by your ISP. It's free from NBN. PD will only install WSC which will be ready to connect with NBN. Check list of ISPs available in your area and call one of them. Once you register they will arrange NBN to install NTD.

That's wrong. We got the same NBN package from PD and that includes underground conduit to the telecom service trench. That's done even before the driveway. Conduit will have a drawstring which is use by NBN engineer to run the cable through the conduit.

Conduit will have a drawstring which is use by NBN engineer to run the cable through the conduit. But if you don't have NBN in the estate not sure where would be the service trench.

I'm hoping you are correct......but the ARGUS document definitely shows that the undergrounds is not included.

I'll check with my BC for clarification

I believe it's a case of they do the undergrounds but they are a separate line item to the comms packs. In my tender, I queried it for that reason - they had the 'NBN package' for $946 and the 'telecommunications infrastructure connection' for $462 as separate items, both under the estate covenants section. I'm guessing because the comms connection is universal but NBN vs. opticomm vs whatever varies between locations.

Hi all ... just a query for those whose homes are in a Bushfire Attack Level 12.5 zone.

Was anybody else told by Porter Davis that getting the glass glazed on your front entry voids the BAL requirements? We didn't want to choose a solid timber door because we wanted some natural light to flow through the hallway. The door we chose is the BAL version of this one: PMAD 104 http://www.corinthian.com.au/Products/Doors/Entry/Madison-External-Range/Madison-PMAD-104 However, we were told that the glass had to be clear to pass the BAL requirements.

tlblhayward, I noticed on your blog that your front door has Spotswood glazing and you're also in a BAL 12.5 zone. Did you have any trouble pushing that through?

Has anyone else in a BAL 12.5 zone had issues getting their front door glazed?

I have been told the same thing and after checking the Corinthian website, pushed for this to be rechecked. I also pointed out theur bal40 door range has non-clear glass options, so it wasn't absolute that bal rated = clear glass. I haven't had a reply yet - contract was last Tuesday but my BC has been away I think.
