Ahh, im meaning screeding that is applied to the top of the dry slab..

I had it done at a shop before doing the flooring, The concrete floor was stuffed so they screed it to make it perfectly level

Our slab is going to be fixed like this, in our family area. I think it is getting done sometime during the lockup stage? Ours needs to be done before the kitchen cabinets are installed I think.

Our garage also needs to be done but this is being done towards the very end of the build.

How uneven was your slab? Did PD say they will do this as part of the process or did u notice the slab was uneven and push for it?

Well over 4mm (which I think is the maximum from memory) in the family area. It was picked up by PD but we thought something was up when we noticed rain pooling in that area.

The garage isn't smooth enough and that was picked up by PD too.

If any one wants a inspector that pd dislike as he is very thorough

Don't trust pd with their said building inspectors .

Electrical appointment tips wanted - those that did LED downlights, did you get prewiring done or just get PD to do it all?
Anyone get extra heating vents in ensuite bathroom or laundry?
Has anyone put insulation between ground floor and 1st floor roof?
extraction fans in toilets vented into walls, how will this work if insulation insitu?
Do people talk via BC or just bypass them and go SS? So far Im vague as what BC actually does?
How long did your colour appointments last, is 3 hrs enough time?

Hi Sandy45

LED Lighting, if you get PD just to do the wiring, it's approx $48.60 from memory, then you need to buy the LED transformer + LED itself which can range anywhere from cheapo $35 up to nicer $60+ ones. Then you need to hire a sparky to come in and install the lights and depending on his/her hourly rate, you are better off getting PD to do it. From memory PD charges approx $130?

Extra heating vents in ensuite bathtoom or laundry...hmmm for ensuite I requeted for heated bathroom lights and I dont see any value add having a heated vent in the laundry. Unless you spend most of your time in there.

No insulations between floors allowed as they deem it as a fire hazzard. They will ask you to opt for sound dampening underlay instead.

Extraction fans in toliets are vented outside. not into walls.

If you want any changes, you need to speak with BC......however I have heard of people paying SS on the side to get some extra things done. Not sure how that works.

Colour appointment - how long is a piece of string, everyone is different. Just be prepared before you go in, more homework you do with color choices...the quicker and easier it will be. IF you walk in there with no clue....be prepare to spend the whole day....look at my blog..there's plenty of pictures of what Hopetoun has to offer.

We had a similar outdoor table to this, but without the tiled top.
The horizontal frame brace was right at knee height for me, and copped many a bruise.

It was ok when just casually sitting around, but not when needing to pull the chair in when eating.

Hey does anybody know if the porter davis NBN pack does include the NTD?

"The Basic NBNCo Fibre Pack (including Enclosure) is $1,432.53. This package includes x3 Phone or Data points throughout the home and the WSC (cabinet) on the wall in the garage. "

I'm going to presume it doesn't, though nobody seems to know or if they possibly do, they dont return calls :/ ... what have other people done to get the NTD installed faster or before completion, I hear this NBNco is retarded... and takes months to install NTD's.
