Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 1801May 17, 2011 10:40 am I remember those driving around days. Driving to Lyndhurst, to Mernda and Caroline Springs, kids in tow, trying to find a house we liked within our budget. Almost signed up for the single storeyed Francis, when the sales lady took us next door to the double storey which DH promptly fell in love with. Way off our budget that was, went to a small builder who didnt do much, cancelled and the double storey is the one we eventually built. We have a phrase for it, which translates in to "the power of your dreams/wishes". We call our home that. It feels like it was just meant to be. I think there's been a "whoopsie"! Ooooh a whoopsie..... good whoopsie?? or a bad whoopsie?? details! haha Mimi!! Well.... what I initially thought was a bad whoopsie has subsequently turned out to be a good whoopsie!! Ok, thanks to T who sent me an email with all of the stair options!! When we looked at the Waldorf at Williams Landing we didn't take to the way the carpet had a centre runner, we would have liked the treads fully carpeted. We didn't want timber treads as the house we live in now has timber treads and we dislike them intensely. They are slippery, I have slipped down them twice in two years, they are cold and hard. They look nice, but for us a We then saw the Marriott at Lyndhurst and loved the carpeted treads. At tender, we showed them a photo of the staircase and also checked the website and after a little searching we were told it was the Traditional Option 2. Turns out it is actually the Classic Option 2!! Insert Whoopsie here! Now after looking at the detailed pictures (below) I am growing to like the one we have... so a good whoopsie!!! Sometimes these things just turn out for the best!! Re: Porter Davis homes 1809May 17, 2011 10:43 pm Well we are full steam ahead now, bank has ok'd the loan unconditionally, spoke with the PD rep, and we should have the tender appointment sometime next week. Guess it will be time to start a thread. Re: Porter Davis homes 1810May 17, 2011 10:52 pm That would be a super cool whoopsie, I'm impressed!! MelnRob, no news on the porch as yet, thanks for asking. Apparently that is the 'design'. More like a flaw to me. Congrats on your approval humble. The journey begins - good luck with it. Rups, your CSC/Sales co-ordinator would know. We built in the same estate too Re: Porter Davis homes 1813May 18, 2011 12:06 am FND Hello guys, We like the Illoura36 floorplan, but unfortunately it has been discontinued recently. Does anyone know if PD will still accept new build for Illoura? Thanks. I Illoura was a lovely house. due to 6 star rating which they need to meet the price to get to 6 star will cause the price to increase significantly. Does anyone know if PD will still accept new build for Illoura? Thanks. Another option is to take the Ivanhoe 36 and swap around the Master/WIR/Ensuite. Off memory that was the major difference between the two floorplans. The Ivanhoe Master feeds into the ensuite, where as the Illoura had it off to the side with the WIR at the bottom. We almost built the Illoura. Twas a nice house. Good thing is we have one going up 2 doors down and the people living (or will be) in it are great! So I kinda get my cake and can eat it too Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! The forum is a great way to meet other people building in your estate, like flagstaffIV, and seeking advice and recommendations. Keep us updated with how you go and let me know if you have any questions in the future. Cheers, Jess Porter Davis Homes Questions? Our base stage is nearly completed and we have yet to hear from him. thanks Yes, our SS conctacted us after the slab was completed (if I remember correctly). You should have got a letter from your CSC advising you who the SS is the the contact number. Don't wait for him to contact you, contact him & ask him to update you on regular basis. I contacted my SS weekly, sometimes daily. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1819May 18, 2011 4:10 pm Hi SSAZ, My CSA did tell me who my SS is but she didn't provide any details, just said that he'll call by the end of the week to introduce himself.
