House is looking great, especially now bricks are on and plaster is in! A real house now! (Can you remind me which bricks you went for again. Still deciding on ours) And while we are at that, does anyone have the Boral addresses for where the Brushwood or BrownTerrain brick were used and could PM me. I emailled them early last week, but haven't heard back yet! Thanks and No problems - its Boral Lambassa - cat 5 They use this brick on quite a few of their displays... Westpac really didn't ask for much from us- we provided them the paperwork stating what the cost of the land was and the house with the items we wanted in it and that was it. Are you still finalising your financing? We will most likely be switching it a smaller bank once we see how the interest rates go. Our finance is approved but there was a good offer from another bank so was looking at the options but need to consider valuations aspect because the market has softened. Just colour, knots, bowing, its all subtle, but i noticed quite a difference going through a merbau supplier then comparing bunnings/masters. J & C tstr1a Bunnings is selling Merbau for 5.49 per l/m. They dont beat anything when pushed, I attempted twice to have them pricematch, and once I was told simply, no, and when debated said, while its advertised if the price is below their cost then they cannot. I got into a huge debate about how its impossible they only make 60c a Linear Metre as profit, but they said they did. use a proper wood firm. your Pine will be a lot cheaper, I got f7 pine for the bunnings price of f5. If so could u guys pls suggest me what to do. Re: Porter Davis homes 4856Mar 14, 2012 12:47 pm sssfamily...I believe you needed to have it included to be tiled at tender. Then it has a little hole at the side of the balcony that it drains out of (as in the displays). Solutions now, I can't think of any without taking bricks out, plastering the underneath, and applying a slanted surface to tile on.
Here is someones blog, who have the same thing http://dhomeontherange.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/raindrops-keep-falling-on-our-heads.html Re: Porter Davis homes 4857Mar 14, 2012 12:50 pm sssfamily Hello All, I need your help\suggestion please.we are building a house with PD and building is nearly finished just few things to do – Balcony decking, front rendering, carpet. Now PD is doing decking to balcony but the problem is they do decking to balcony and leave it like that that means no ceiling to Porch.Just Imagine, when it rains the whole rain water will be in front of my front door .When we had a walk through with the sales consultant she said balcony will be decking but no one wouldn’t think that they don’t provide any provision for the rain water to drain from balcony.we gave a mail to our CSC a week ago but didn’t get a reply as always. She always replies back after 5 to 7 days.does anyone has the same type of situation.
