Re: Porter Davis homes 7243May 08, 2013 2:41 pm Nice ftd, you can't go wrong with that brick. I am anxiously awaiting to hear whether Cat2 in Austral is going to be a bit cheaper than Cat 2 in Boral, I am hoping it is, because Austral has 8 catgegories so theoretically it wouldn't be as big a jump in cost.... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis homes 7244May 08, 2013 7:30 pm Does anyone have a list of austral bricks and their categories? We have colours next Thursday and we'd like to see if we can find something in a lower category that we like. Thanks Re: Porter Davis homes 7245May 08, 2013 7:34 pm Back pocket I don't have one, I am told Fawn and Ash are Cat 2 though. I imagine most of the bricks in the Access range are Cat 1 or 2.... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis homes 7246May 08, 2013 8:15 pm Thanks meowsy, very happy we can now have a lighter coloured brick We only found 1 boral brick we both liked, cat 4 quoted $5k to upgrade so cat 2 in austral sounds wonderful! Re: Porter Davis homes 7247May 08, 2013 8:17 pm yes, the range of Austral is much bigger. I got some addresses from Austral to go and look at, perhaps give them a call, (the call centre opens I think at 7.30am). I see you are in the east, I could have given you a few of Fawn and Ash if you were in the west. Lucky my BC and SS are super efficient and ready to take my calls /emails when mistakes arise This makes me feel unsettled a bit because I am not going to be able to get out to our site more than once a week! What if I miss something like this?! I hope you get it sorted. Thanks to Helen (here on the forum) the building regional manager called me. Had a really frank phone conversation re: build experience etc.. Outlined all the errors and the mistakes are going to be fixed. My BC and SS are really great people and I really am grateful for all their efforts. They have a hard time trying to find solutions to mistakes made by others.. so I really sympathise with them... Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis homes 7255May 09, 2013 5:42 pm Hi Everyone, I have been reading this forum for the last few months and am very much amazed to read the frustrations and hardships people are going through during the construction period. We signed the contract for waldorf and had the second soil test due to the demolition of the old house. I am wondering if someone can clarify about the cost difference between M class and H1 class slab and if the soil test report recommends M class slab is it possible for PD to charge for H1 class slab. Our soil test report states that the site classification is Class P, Waffle slab recommendation – Class M and Strip/Stump footing type Class M. But in the contract we have been charged for slab upgrade H1 class waffle foundation. Waiting for your valuable opinions. We are in a similar situation, after the first soil test and in contract we were upgraded to a "H" class slab. With the 2nd Soil test it cam back in as "M" class slab. I have asked for a credit back, however have now been waiting over six weeks since I first asked the question - funny thing is I haven't received an answer yet. I was told I would get a little bit of $$ back, however I stated that I wanted a full explanation. I have chased this up several times via phonecalls and email!!!!! Re: Porter Davis homes 7259May 10, 2013 9:59 am Thanks so much mum2monkeys, that is very helpful! Now I am just awaiting pricing on Austral Cat 2 bricks- I am hoping it is less than the $2000 odd I was quoted for Boral Cat 2 on the Montrose, which I'm sure can't be correct.....
