We are building a Rhode Island Drysdale 28. We've had a look at the 2 display homes using it (which are the Vancouver and the Dunedin) but would love to drive by a Drysdale using the façade. We are interested to find out anyone who has built the Rhode Island facade too We have signed up to build the Drysdale 30 with Rhode Island facade. We are currently waiting on bank unconditional approval and then we are all systems go! Getting nervous and excited!! Re: Porter Davis homes 12163Jan 28, 2016 11:12 am After six and a half month delay on title and a whole lot of other stress, it is so exciting to finally have action stations! Now I just wish Melbourne's weather would cooperate. A couple of issues as always. Hoping for PCI sometime next month, so this was a chance to get on site and point out any problems before we get to the PCI inspection. http://buildingdownunder.blogspot.com.a ... check.html Re: Porter Davis homes 12165Jan 29, 2016 9:21 pm Very nice mate! What flooring is that? Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Porter Davis homes 12166Jan 29, 2016 10:57 pm Drew01 Very nice mate! What flooring is that? Do you mean the laminate? I think it's UTF Provincial collection laminate in Sabal Shade. We were going to go for tiles, but after one of our kids had a few head first falls off of chairs on to our current wooden floor, we decided tiles were probably a no go until the kids were a bit older. Yes, the build has been a nightmare at times as I'm sure you've read on the blog. It'll hopefully all be forgotten about within a couple of months of moving in. Re: Porter Davis homes 12171Feb 02, 2016 10:29 am Heya Im new to this site but have been reading for a few months now. I am building the last floorplan 'Ashgrove 33' it got deleted back in May last year. Our temporary fencing has just gone up. We are super excited! How long from temp fencing until slab gets poured? Also when does the 'building period' start from? Also when does the 'building period' start from? You should get a phone call from your slab supervisor any day now. We had temp fencing up and site scrape starting from 18 Jan and got a phone call from our slab supervisor the next day. Slab was due to be poured on the 29th & got delayed one day due to rain. Once the temp fencing goes up the clock should be ticking Also, if you haven't already I strongly suggest you get an independent inspector in to check the pre-pour, ours found 17 issues to be rectified. What were the issues? Will tell the hubby. Was it expensive? A whole lot of mumbly jumbly stuff the shorthand of which was that x y z wasn't up to code. We didn't understand much of it, but I guess that's what we pay them for! If you read through this and other Porter Davis threads you'll see it's well worth it. Pre-pour was $450 ish and all up I think we're paying two thousand and something across all the inspections. Well worth every cent.
