Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 6142Sep 24, 2012 10:41 pm Rups J & C Can someone please let me know if the pre-wired cables are left inside the wall or is to be pulled out. They'll be pulled through and terminated appropriately. The guys that do that are different to the ones that do power and lights. Thanks Rups for this but when we queried this with our SS we were informed us that the wires will be left in the wall and that we will have to pull them out later. When you pre-wired the home theater the speaker cables are pulled out (not all though...that's another story...WIP) but the projector cables are left in the ceiling this does not make sense. According to the SS the intercom wired will be left in the wall even though we have specified the height. Also on the cabling in the theartre room our s/s has said if we have the sound system ready will can get it fit off on handover day,but if we havnt the system ready he will comw back with the plans for cabling and pull them thru when we are ready after handover so just ask ur s/s if he can do the same for you. Your house looks brilliant, I like the stain that has been used on the doors. We will get the SS to do the same as far as pre-wires are concerned, its amazing to note that they have different process for similar tasks. Porter Davis homes 6152Sep 26, 2012 7:25 am Frustrating! Day 5 of nice weather after slab pour and NOTHING has happened.... How often did u guys actually hear from your SS with updates? Porter Davis homes 6153Sep 26, 2012 7:40 am cinderella_375 How often did u guys actually hear from your SS with updates? Sporadically. Early on it was probably every 3-4 weeks, and we might hear from the BC fortnightly. Must be so frustrating for you seeing nothing happen. Sometimes I'm glad we can only visit our site weekly so we usually see some change (although TBH, mostly I hate it and wish we lived closer!) Re: Porter Davis homes 6155Sep 26, 2012 8:41 am cinderella_375 Frustrating! Day 5 of nice weather after slab pour and NOTHING has happened.... How often did u guys actually hear from your SS with updates? The slab takes 28 day to reach 99% of its structual strength. take it as a good thing that PD are taking time to build the frame. Re: Porter Davis homes 6156Sep 26, 2012 10:26 am Hi All. Did anyone on here get 300x600 porcelain matte finish tiles and have issues cleaning initially? What do you recommend using to get a nice finish? Cheers Re: Porter Davis homes 6157Sep 26, 2012 3:21 pm Doreen_Kallara33 Hi All. Did anyone on here get 300x600 porcelain matte finish tiles and have issues cleaning initially? What do you recommend using to get a nice finish? Cheers Hi Doreen_Kallara33 I'm concerned if you are still having problems with your tile cleaning as I had responded to your previous post on this issue on August 27. At that time, I sent you a link (below) to an overall guide on how to look after porcelain tiles from Lithofin, the supplier of tile care products recommended by National Tiles. If following the recommendations outlined in this link are not giving you the desired result, please feel free to send me a private message and I will look further into this matter for you. Does anyone know if we can even have the slightest chance of changing it now that we're in construction stage? For some odd reason, our colour coordinator didn't note down in his selections that we want our garage door pale WHITE. He instead had it down as the same as our downpipes, some faded BROWN colour (colourbond dune). Our BC says that theres NO way possible that we can get this sorted out since we're at construction already. If theres no way then it looks like we'll have to do a paint over the door after hand over. Im thinking something like this: http://www.bnd.com.au/timber-coat/ I can't believe we mange to miss it...but i guess when you're building a house, theres always a chance for an error. PLEASE advise!!
