Fixing stage (in-construction) Re: Porter Davis homes 5603Jun 18, 2012 12:03 pm Good Morning, We paid about $1,500 directly into a PD account to hold a block of land. We did not sign anything and never where given a receipt but PD is aware of the amount. Is it refundable as we are looking to pull out? No contracts have been signed regarding the land. We also paid $1,000 for contracts which is non refundable once soil testing has been ordered. We signed a sales order which states in fine print that by signing we authorise PD to order the soil test so I guess we can kiss that goodbye. Any thoughts? Also who would I contact to ask for this money? Any help appreciated as always Re: Porter Davis homes 5604Jun 18, 2012 1:20 pm Is there anyone out there that didn't go for the bifold doors to the Alfresco area. I would love to see some photos to get an idea what it looks like. I love the bifolds, but don't think I can justify the price. I'm not sure who you would ask for the refund. At that early stage we were only in contact with the sales consultant, so I would have started there I think, but we already owned the land so it might be different. The SC made a pretty convincing story about how that $1,500 was needed ASAP and we could bank transfer it. I guess the transfer receipt on my netbank would be proof of payment but there's no formal receipt stating refund process. The SC we used left PD last week so not sure who to contact now. I told our conveyancers of our decision and asked for their advice. Perhaps they will do it for us? Re: Porter Davis homes 5608Jun 18, 2012 8:22 pm We signed final contract 2 months ago. Since then our plans have been knocked back by our estate twice due to incomplete submissions. We have gone through 1 bc already and since then have had no contact. No replies to emails or phone calls. We were assured a late april start and are now also about ready to chuck in the towel as well..... Grrrrrrr. Not at all impressed by PD's communication. 2 Re: Porter Davis homes 5609Jun 18, 2012 10:35 pm Karma888 He guys, Lock up stage had been completed However our facade has only been rendered in one coat (white) and the (correct) front door has not been installed. Cheers, Karma888 Hi Karma We had the white base coat applied also but I did have to follow up with where they ended the render too short on one wall as per plans. Coloured render went on later but then a final coat went on (in parts I assume) to hide some white streaking. All good though. Just follow up with your SS on any issues. Follow up with them about the door. I was missing Deadlocks a PCI and was told everything should have been installed, but they were there for Post PCI inspection before settlement. Good luck - you must be nearly done then ! regards Mikey Re: Porter Davis homes 5610Jun 18, 2012 10:40 pm mynewlife Is there anyone out there that didn't go for the bifold doors to the Alfresco area. I would love to see some photos to get an idea what it looks like. I love the bifolds, but don't think I can justify the price. Hey there We went for the standard (shock) sliding doors and find them totally practical. I thought the bifolds were outrageously priced, didn't love the timber look, thought they'd sag after a while and would required too much maintenance. Ideally I'd prefer aluminium stackers as the bifolds also take up to much room and are far to fiddly to bother with... That said if you do have them, I jealous. But loving my poor mans sliders. It was probably the ONLY thing we didn't upgrade, but for us a wise decision. PS I can email you a photo is you PM your email address. Good luck with your build. regards Mikey Re: Porter Davis homes 5611Jun 19, 2012 8:39 am We've gone for the aluminum sliding stackers. Don't have a photo of ours yet but I can send you a pic of the ones we based our design on if you PM me your email address. It cost a lot less to upgrade than we thought it would actually, if you're interested I'll dig up the price and send that with the pic. Cheers, Karma888 Hi Karma888, That must be exciting for you, not too much longer until you’ll be taking your first steps into your new home! Your pictures are great, it’s quite a grand entrance you’ll have. You should definitely bring these things up with you SS especially if you believe the wrong door has been installed. Not at all impressed by PD's communication. 2 That sucks captainsideburns . Do you know what is incomplete about the submissions? So far we haven't had any major issues with communication (touch wood) but, for what it's worth, I was certain we weren't going to get our May site start but they called us on May 31 to say that the site scrape had happened 2 days before. We've been really happy with PD's communication recently. I know it's only very early days, but since the site start our SS or BC or both have called at least once a week with updates. I was a little worried from reading on here, and that we weren't told anything about our start site except that it was 'still scheduled' for May (and our BC didn't know when the site scrape was happening until it had happened), but since then we've been impressed. Hopefully it continues! I'm just putting it out there for people reading along that it isn't all doom and gloom. Our latest update (as of yesterday) is that the frame is due to be finished tomorrow, then the site will be cleaned up and they will start roof, gutters and cladding. Bricks are due to be delivered on June 28. Hi koukli, If you’re not too sure who to contact since your sales consultant has left I’d be happy to have someone give you a call to discuss your refund with you, or to give you a receipt. Please feel free to drop me a private message with your full name and the best number for us to reach you on and I will have this followed up for you. Thanks, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? The ducted heater that was installed is 3-star instead of 5-star. I did upgrade it to 5-star and this is in my contract. I contacted my Customer Service Coordinator since beginning of June but did not get any response. I later found out she went on maternity leave. Then I contacted her manager at LifeStyle East, left messages in voice mail and on his mobile and also emailed him a few times. Unfortunately I have not got any response from him so far. It's been almost 3 weeks already. Can anyone advise what I can do? Thanks. Re: Re: Porter Davis homes 5619Jun 19, 2012 3:23 pm Team PD captainsideburns We signed final contract 2 months ago.
