Pd up till now have been fab!!! Re: Porter Davis homes 3602Oct 31, 2011 8:47 am Well I just handed over my fix cheque, so I have 1 stage left.. How long does the final stage take!? Also.. its getting real, so how much should I budget for driveways? Agg Concreate? $80sqm? $90sqm? and Colourbond Fences? Re: Porter Davis homes 3603Oct 31, 2011 8:52 am J & C Thanks for this Ours is supposed to be a Smart Community but currently use ADSL so not sure how many data points will be needed by us...at this stage we have just opted for two data points and two phone points... If one wants to connect the projector / TV to the network does one need have data points for all equipments or can they be connected using a wireless router...totally new to this! If there are plans to make your estate a Smart Community (and you are confident it will happen), I would setup your data points and home network on that basis. To be honest, there really isn't really a great deal of difference in how you would set things up if you were on ADSL or Fibre Optic. You just have to factor in an ADSL modem (i.e. a telephone point and power point) in the setup. You can still have your Wireless Router connected in either scenario. If your wireless router has a few network points on the back of it (they generally have 4), you can connect your projector / TV to this. Would you like to PM me your floor plans and electrical layout, and what equipment you have, and I can see if you have things covered? Call me strange (Leanne does), but I enjoy this stuff! Re: Porter Davis homes 3604Oct 31, 2011 10:37 am Should the base price of our house be the same on the contract that it was on the sales order/tender? I did not notice this at the signing - I think because I was too concerned about making sure nothing was missing - but on our sales order we have a price for our house, and on the quote we have a different price for the house, and then a $6000 developer discount. We didn't know anything about a developer discount, but even with the discount, the price on the contract is about $3000 more than on the original sales order. I asked my BC about it and they said 'This deposit that was paid was for the fixed price guarantee for the site start month'. With all the hassles we have gone through so far I don't know whether this one is worth pushing or whether there is nothing to push! The $1,000 is to lock the price of the house and the pricing matrix... You could you the money towards furniture or landscaping.
