Re: Porter Davis homes 9483Apr 20, 2014 12:40 am I have finally been able to find some houses with Canterbury bricks. Thankfully I am not horrified by the look because I was incredibly worried that we had made the wrong choice (as we were very angry when told that the Kooyong was discontinued). I have uploaded the photos to our blog... http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com/2014 ... rbury.html Re: Porter Davis homes 9484Apr 20, 2014 12:03 pm Hi All, We are building the Monaco16 in Eucalypt Wollert. Re: Porter Davis homes 9487Apr 21, 2014 2:37 am Hi everyone, I just learnt that Google Sketchup can be modified to draw 3D models in different style (e.g. pencil sketch, charcoal, crayon, etc) so I have uploaded sketches of my ground and first floor in different styles at... http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com/2014/04/different-sketchup-styles-of-ground.html http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com/2014/04/different-sketchup-styles-of-first-floor.html For example... Maybe not much happening with the Easer/Anzac breaks. I know my BC has been away! I am just sitting waiting for our final PCV to be sorted and our site costs to come through (next week) so we can get the ball rolling on this build! We are hoping to start mid-late May Will check out your blog now Re: Porter Davis homes 9490Apr 23, 2014 11:12 am ftdt7882 Hi Ally - It has been! Maybe not much happening with the Easer/Anzac breaks. We are hoping to start mid-late May Will check out your blog now Hi ftdt, I wouldn't have a clue if my BC was away or not. I haven't heard from her in forever. She does not update me on the progress or anything else for that matter and when I do e-mail her with a simple question it takes about 3 days to get a reply anyways. Luckily not much more to go Re: Porter Davis homes 9491Apr 23, 2014 4:11 pm Greetings, We're building the Waldorf 44 and were told we have to put screening up for our second storey balcony. That's fine because they said we have the option between modwood stacks and obscure glass panels, modwood stack was a deal breaker for us so we were always going to choose obscure glass panels. But last week, our BC emailed us saying they don't have obscure glass in stock anymore and we must go with modwood stacks. We were talking to our site supervisor the other day, he said modwood stacks do not block, they obscure, there is a 10mm gap between each strip of modwood. Can someone confirm this? If there is a 10mm gap then we are OK with it, otherwise we're going to fight for obscure glass to balcony. Recently discovered gaps between bricks and windows. Every window has a gap on one of the side; and some of them have gaps on both sides. Absolutely unhappy with infills. I have been told that complies with Australian standards, not mine!!! Checked many houses around and didn't find any with such problem. Has anyone got PD to rectify the issue completely getting rid off gaps? If yes, what have you done and what were your arguements? Thanks in advance Re: Porter Davis homes 9495Apr 23, 2014 5:20 pm Hi everyone, We are building with PD and located in Melbourne West, we are going for a Rochford 40 with a small reduction in length - originally went for the Santana design but was unsuitable due to shadowing issue (lack of light to next door) as our side of the block is facing north. Can anybody suggest a good blog site for us to share our build experience? Cheers! Re: Porter Davis homes 9496Apr 23, 2014 6:05 pm Hi everyone, I haven't been able to post many updates because... like FF... we are waiting on the final approval for things to get started. I have uploaded my most recent electrical layout to my blog, although there are still a handful of things to fix... http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com/2014 ... plans.html Re: Porter Davis homes 9498Apr 24, 2014 7:59 am VovilaRV Hi all, I am buildilng with PD in Melbourne. Thanks in advance Hi VolvilaRV have you got any pics of the windows, or your house in general? I'm building the same one but just the 20.. The first time I built with PD we had some gaps also but they were filled with aluminium the same colour as the window frames and did not look like they were I filled at all afterwards. We should know the date when it's going to be finished pretty soon! Hi, I'm just using the regular google blog since I have an e-mail with them so it's all one account, no need to register or anything.
