I've been told I could only have windows without architraves, instead of windows with architraves over tiles in a floor to ceiling tiles bathroom or ensuite. They only notified me this at the 1st Building Variation. This is what it looks like without architraves. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ These are the photos I found on PD's website. The exact windows I signed over contract and tender. I have sent all these back to PD and asked them why they told it was impossible to have windows with architraves in a fully tiled bathroom, but on their website they are at least half dozen photos taken directly from display homes showing otherwise. Has anyone come across the same situation before? Any advice will be appreciated. You get a cleaner look If you are not doing square set windows there is no reason why they can't do the architraves even though you have tiles on the whole wall. I have architraves around my window in the master ens (not square set window) and will also have tiles from floor to ceiling with square set corners. Makes no sense why PD is saying you can't, when they obviously can. Pics are proof. Good luck with this. Worst case scenario just escalate to snr mgt. Our SC had done most of our structural changes but we did end making more changes than I thought we would i.e a few window changes, door changes etc. A couple of things in the tender hadn't been updated on the plans so that was done as well. Our site costs remained what we thought they would be so that is good news. And we have been told we can shave $9000 of the total site costs if we can get our neighbour to connect to our power pit (their wires low hang over our property, they are very very low). So we need to get an electrician to quote the cost of that, as they seem okay with doing it, hey we are paying for it so they should def take up the offer!! Definitely feels real tonight after such a long time of nothing. WOS appointment in 3 weeks, and then contract another 3 weeks after that. They also weren't going to take the $2000 deposit out the 3% tender either, but when my husband mentioned it they didn't have any issue - why pay more than you have too at this stage! Re: Porter Davis homes 15495Sep 22, 2017 9:11 pm Yep that is normal. Hebel will go on top. There is a bracket they fix to the timber. Then the Hebel is screwed onto the bracket to hold the hebel Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building the Madison 40 | By Porter Davis Re: Porter Davis homes 15496Sep 23, 2017 9:11 am Update on our build including pics here>> https://waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.co ... delivered/ The tiles have been delivered and going in next week. You have some really nice tile choices with the timber look tiles. Looking forward to seeing them once they're laid. It's really good your SS double checked how you want them laid. And of course I have to say how amazing your stairs look! Beautiful stain choice and lovely panelling. Really like your choice of wall colour as well. We're about to begin building the Vancouver 33 with PD. We have had multiple quotes and have made a number of variations to the standard plan so far. Went to World of Style today, which was great, but will head back on a weekday to get some firmer pricing. This will be our second build, so prior experience will hopefully aid us this time around. All the best with your build. We visited WOS about six times before our official appointment. - View my blog at http://www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Thanks for that. Very excited.
