Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 642Nov 29, 2010 8:52 pm Bi-Fold Doors vs Privacy Hello All, I'm after some advice As part of our promotion, we are getting a 4-panel Bi-fold door in lieu of the normal Aluminium sliding door which we are obviously excited about However, I do have a slight concern about the potential lack of privacy that such a door will offer. With all the windows in the house, we will have blinds installed which solves this problem but in the main part of the house we will have this area of 3m wide which will offer no privacy. Consequently, can anyone recommend any ideas on how we can deal with this? Many Thanks in advance, Chorlton TIMING OF BUILD 25Feb - Site Start 25Mar - Base Stage Complete 31Mar - Frame Completed 11Apr - Roof Tiles 20Apr - Brickwork Started Re: Porter Davis homes 643Nov 30, 2010 12:11 am Hi Chorlton, I am pretty sure you can get blinds for bi-folding doors! I have seen them both with roller blinds on each individual panel, and with one big roller blind running the length of the bi- fold! These days the look of roller blinds have become more appealing and both ways look great! Hope this has helped! If so, may I ask whether this was installed by PD and if so, approx cost /m2 for supply & lay? Hi Chorlton, To help answer your question, PD can install Laminate timber flooring, prices can be obtained at Hopetoun. For timber flooring clients can choose to do this themselves after handover. The staff at Hopetoun Interiors are best people to talk to for advice on this. I also recommend updating your CSA with what's on your mind and seeing if they have any advice on the matter. I hope that helps answer your question. Cheers, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Thanks June Hi June, Some quick suggestions off the top of my head, although I haven't seen your floor layout so they may not be suitable. 1) Can Cavity door slider open in the opposite direction, so the cavity unit is contained in the other wall? 2) Can the Clock be hung off the plaster wall using hooks. I have seen hooks which stick to the wall using adhesive which can hold a reasonable amount of weight, although I don't know how heavy your clock is!! 3) Can the door be changed to a 820 or smaller width 720 standard hinge type door? 4) Can you err... reposition the clock Regards, Chorlton TIMING OF BUILD 25Feb - Site Start 25Mar - Base Stage Complete 31Mar - Frame Completed 11Apr - Roof Tiles 20Apr - Brickwork Started Re: Porter Davis homes 657Dec 01, 2010 9:43 pm building1 Frustrated! Thanks June Hi June, Depending on what building stage you are currently in, I suggest asking your Customer Service Administrator or New Home Care coordinator for help on this one, they might be able to offer you some good advice as to what's possible. They can also advice you on whether PD can install extra battens as suggested by Flagstaff. Let me know how you go. Cheers, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions?
