Your post was reflective of our situation before you edited it! Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Porter Davis homes 12262Feb 18, 2016 8:32 am my situation? touch and go. Should I stay or should I go now...a lot of collective angst reflected here. Not rectified by 10 years of feedback...After being hit with some BV's post contract.I am talking to other builders Re: Porter Davis homes 12263Feb 18, 2016 5:59 pm "Rectification" report received and we still have massive issues - I wish I were more surprised. Time to escalate this one up the food chain. Utterly disappointed. Time to escalate this one up the food chain. Utterly disappointed. No way?! Why wasn't it fixed? What happened? Very disappointing Porter Davis homes 12265Feb 18, 2016 6:19 pm We're looking at issues with wall junction blocking, metal bracing/straps, defective timber sheet bracing, roof trusses installed incorrectly. Not to mention noticeable humps & dips in the slab and the boxing done incorrectly (although we were aware the concreting issues wouldn't be fixed yet) Joanne/Team PD I've tried messaging you three times tonight but all seem stuck in outbox. You helped me out last year with an issue and should still have my contact details. Could you please get someone to contact me regarding our build? I want to get us back on the right track because we are extremely unimpressed. Excuse me for the blasphemy, for raising these questions about the good folks at PD; but can some one help me with answers to the following? Preferably from members on here, who have also experienced the nuances of this Touching, feeling, seeing ? PD rep free to join in, if not in a training class. I am not a troll, just getting my head unwrapped about this biz. The usernames are real, as is our contract to build a Hoffman 39. 1.Has anyone been able to talk on the phone to your BC? Never happens when we call, no call backs either. Wonder if its a company policy for the BC NOT to answer/return calls... 2.How many BV have you faced on an average? AFTER Tender, AFTER contract signing and the whole 9 yards, where an item e.g. which has is awaiting pricing by the 'world of(?limited) Style' , yet you get a demand for a $1500 variation or some such charge. Am not too glib with the 2 and 3 letter acronyms, and couldnt be arsed about them, so shall stick to some plain jane names if I cant remember them 3.Does your contract come signed US style, in MM/DD/YY format, leading to financial institution asking for correction? yup, you got it-ANOTHER delay, courtesy ,the good folk at PD. 3. On an average , how many times were you told about your 'journey' and 'going to site next week', and each time, the ' going to site' fairy came by and scattered some 'go to hell' dust - yup more delays, "...such and such form was not sent/ signed in proper format..." and more ad goingtositum. 4. Another one- how long does it take to delete a power point from somewhere it was never added on? this was again on a final check,a few weeks before 'going to site'- a Please remember this term, a monumental, life changing event in a PD homeowners lexicon. 5. Never mind the fact that the whole house can be wired up, but a single multicore cable cannot be pulled from point A to B for the security system-Why? because we're not going with the company one. The clients fault, Jawohl!? Live it? More like touchy feeled. And its not a happy feel either... I don't think I actually told that story... Got a phone call from a very confused carpenter on Friday afternoon "errrr there's blue spray paint here but I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing???" Well use your imagination! Haha ok so I didn't actually tell him that but I did give him the inspector's phone number. I think it was as confused as the framer was as to why they were calling me! My plans show my LPOD close to my boundary fence, but PD have stuck it smack bang in the middle of what was supposed to be a nice large lawn area - over 3m off of the location shown on the signed plans and the stamped building permit. Re: Porter Davis homes 12275Feb 22, 2016 10:24 am Spent over an hour walking through with the area construction manager today who showed us every minor detail that was picked up in the reinspection report and explained everything in so much detail that he basically gave us a crash course in framing. The respect he showed us was in stark contrast to what we had experienced up to that point it. We feel so reassured and just wish the site supervisor had suggested a walk through earlier (but he will be asking the SS to give us weekly updates from now on & work on the communication side of things). And we have a roof! Woohoo. Just spoken to the SS and he's informed me that he was wrong and it wasn't the LPOD, it's actually the sewer inspection hole. Which isn't even shown on the plans. Seems someone at PD thought I'd appreciate that right in the middle of my back garden. What the hell am I supposed to do about that? Is there anything I can do? Glad everything went smooth as so it should since what you have exprieneced so far The stupid thing is that we would have been freaking out less if the site supervisor had just explained things better. I think they get that now! Well there wasn't a roof when the inspector was there Thursday afternoon... And now it's done! And im very skeptical when it comes to additional add ons... who knows what to believe. if anyone has heard of this or knows if this is in fact true id love to hear about it. Re: Porter Davis homes 12280Feb 22, 2016 11:01 pm Hi all, We are just about to start building a Rochford 40 in Melbournes inner west. Have gone through WOS and Tender and so far everything has gone really smoothly. We bought a knockdown, which is almost knocked down! Hoping to start early April (fingers crossed)!
