Terrence Malick Re: Porter Davis homes 1846May 19, 2011 9:00 pm ![]() You can buy them directly from southern star windows for $11 each, give them your lot number and they will even have them all ready for you. Very simple to install - under a minute per window Is there a specific brand that suits these windows? And how long ago did you get them for $11 each? I'm trying to convince my other half to buy them from Southern Star windows instead. Thanks ![]() Re: Porter Davis homes 1848May 19, 2011 9:31 pm So, I was just thinking (I do that sometimes). We've received our last invoice, no PCI date, no settlement date and we haven't been rendered, no shower screens, love it, bit out of order I think... ![]() ![]() My building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36059 Paid initial deposit 24/7/10 Tender appointment 20/8/2010 Flooring and tile appointment 25/9/10 Colour and Electrical appointment 13/9/10 December site start delayed Site start (YAY!) 17/1/11 Slab pour 1/2/2011 Re: Porter Davis homes 1849May 19, 2011 11:43 pm Hi everyone, Well our frame is up, tiles are done & bricking has begun! Thanks ![]() Not sure of a brand name but southern star supply the windows and the locks if you bought them thru PD. So they are exactly the same except with out the mark up. We got ours around a 4-6 weeks ago - so I would expect the price has not moved much if at all. All you do is lift the sliding part of the window out, remove the black latch by sliding it along the window and fit the lock by sliding it back on and then refitting the window Re: Porter Davis homes 1851May 20, 2011 9:04 am ![]() Hi everyone, Well our frame is up, tiles are done & bricking has begun! I think it requires a downpipe to discharge all the water. Now inmagine how funny the house would look with a downpipe running down the front of the house. All administration needs to be completed by the end of July. Construction is up to PD to start when they are ready. Allow the following time: Colour Selection and electrical 1 day (generally completed on the same day) Tiles allow 4 hours. They do Saturday morning appointments if you ask them nicely. Contract allow 1 day Permits will take them up to 6 week, but usually the get approval in 3 weeks. Re: Porter Davis homes 1855May 20, 2011 10:03 am Hey guys, PD has told allowed 280 days (9 months) for the construction of my double storey house (45 sq), which includes xmas. Do you think they will finish it sooner? How long to they usually take? Your opinions will be greatly appreciated. Cheers T Re: Porter Davis homes 1856May 20, 2011 10:10 am Hi guys, we are building a Camberwell 29 in Mernda. Bricking is being completed at the moment. We have been really happy with our CSR so far and our site supervisor was fine. However he left at the end of last week and we have been allocated a new one - fingers crossed the 'no fuss' build continues! She's backkkkk... Re: Porter Davis homes 1857May 20, 2011 11:08 am Building1, you dont have to pay, just email accounts and cc the CSC with the things left outstanding and let them know you will pay when they confirm that all outstanding items are complete, and it is done to your satisfaction. Mel_mox, chances are you have the same facade I chose- Ashmont? I wasn't told it would leak at all, assumed PD would take care of drainage and that. If you want to come over and see what it looks like, pm me. Never been to a house with a porch that has rain water coming straight through, to me porches that leak defy their purpose. tstr1a, design flaw I agree. Thats exactly what I said to them, dont hold me liable for a flaw in your design. Solution according to our draftsman friend is a downpipe that connects to the garage roof and some sort of barrier under the slats. Agree, the display houses would put people off quite quickly if the porches leaked in the rain. Good luck with your build, Sharee!!
