We have raised couple of issues in end of March and they haven't been fixed yet. We raised couple of times with Supervisor and CSC couple of times but no action. To whom should I supposed to contact if both are useless Thanks and this is why we wont settle Site cut: 2 June 2010 Slab Poured: 2 Oct 2010 Frame Stage: 12 Oct 2010 Lock up: Dec 2010 Fixing Stage: March 2011 http://karasdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 1751May 11, 2011 10:21 pm Hi Jess I have just looked at the PD site and noticed that Brookvale has been take off the list of double story houses. Do you know why this was taken off. Will PD ever build brookvale again? Thanks Yellow Re: Porter Davis homes 1752May 12, 2011 9:36 am MelNRob humble Still no word from the CSR, and I know that the times for contracts to get sorted will be tight if we are to start on July 11. We would also love to get a time for browsing hope. interiors.. With very little weekends between then and now, and the fact that I will be travelling for work most weekdays (interstate and overseas) I can see this is going to be a ***** Oh, and dont get me started on the banks. :S Hey Humble, Sounds like you have a full plate! Did you choose the start time or did PD offer you the earliest time available? I'm pretty sure, if i recall correctly, when initially speaking to our sales rep he asked us when we wanted to start and we asked for April as it gave us enough time to demolish our existing home and let the land settle before building. Our timeline was: Speak to sales rep to finalise sales order 4/12/10 (PD closed down over christmas break) our tender appt - 25/01/11 colour/electrical and tile selection - 16/02/11 Contract appt - 22/02/11 Site start - 01/4/11 We only had communication with our CSC on the 17/12/10. We found that during the time of our signing the sales order, she made contact with the soil and survey people and gathered the relevant property information and arranged for the appointment times at hopetoun and national tiles. All the background work that needs doing and then she relayed this information to us. We used our time between signing the sales order and colour/electrical selections to do a bit of research on what colour schemes we liked and what we wanted in our home. You can visit hopetoun on the weekends and national tiles are statewide (we initially went to the showroom in dandenong to have a look at the builders range to see what was available before we went into the national tiles in port melbourne). Also you can check out carpet court in chadstone for your carpet selections. Just tell the rep there you are building with PD and what range and they will show you what carpets are available. That way when it comes to your colour/tile and electrical selections it will go smoothly and you will know what you want. No hold ups with deciding. Good luck! Mel This was PD's preferred date. It was all a little hectic considering we were still yet to look at loans (and even right this minute the final touches are going on the loan) We had another start date of November, but we chose to go ahead with this start date of the 11th. Jess, I will let it run a little longer, if I dont here anything today i will let you know. I am just concerned with the timeframes and our ability to be able to turn around stuff quickly. While the wife can do a lot of it she has to work as well. The other issue will be tender/contract appointments have to be locked in miles in advance for me to be present. (I spend less then 2 weekdays a week in Melbourne!) Re: Porter Davis homes 1753May 12, 2011 9:47 am Yellow Hi Jess I have just looked at the PD site and noticed that Brookvale has been take off the list of double story houses. Do you know why this was taken off. Will PD ever build brookvale again? Thanks Yellow It has evolved into the Brooklyn. Most designs are only around a few years and then they are either deleted entirely (if they are not particularly good sellers) or evolve into something slightly different. My understanding is that the evolution often involves feedback from customers as to how the house can be improved. I built the Bridgeport 38... we were one of the last through on the Bridgeport before it was deleted. It was a super popular design, but it evolved into the Sandhurst. The reason we were given was that the biggest Bridgeport was too long for 32m blocks once setbacks were taken into account so the largest Sandhurst is short but a little wider so it fits. I notice that the Brooklyn has a galley style kitchen as opposed to the L shape bench of the Brookvale and the laundry is bigger. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Could you please provide me with your full name, lot address, home that you are building and a contact phone number via a Private Message and I’ll have someone contact to you. Thanks Yellow Hi Yellow, To answer your question, the Brookvale design has been evolved to meet new 6 Star requirements and is now replaced by the Brooklyn. You can find the details for this design on the PD website here http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#/homeviewer/brooklyn/50 If you have any further questions you can also contact a sales consultant and they'll happily help you out. I hope that helps. Cheers Jess Porter Davis Homes Questions? My house cremorne 42 has been wrapped on ground floor & bricks have been delivered! How long does it roughly take for bricks to be done??? Many thanks Mel Re: Porter Davis homes 1759May 14, 2011 3:52 pm mel_mox Question for those you that have already built with pd or have had your bricking done! My house cremorne 42 has been wrapped on ground floor & bricks have been delivered! How long does it roughly take for bricks to be done??? Many thanks Mel Hiya Mel It largely depends on weather and the brickies workload. Ours took quite a while, somedays they would come out on site late in the morning and then knock off at 3. Then other days the three of them would go full on and get a whole wall done. They have only now returned to finish the garage wall. My only word of advice is to keep an eye on the sand that is delivered - make sure the colour is consistent with the mortar colour you have chosen I have read other brickies can work quite quickly, so it's just pot luck I guess... like anything in this wonderful process we call home building!! Look forward to seeing your bricks!! Re: Porter Davis homes 1760May 14, 2011 4:22 pm mel_mox Question for those you that have already built with pd or have had your bricking done! Many thanks Mel Hi Mel, Ours were done in about 3 weeks, a single storey house. 2 of them working about 6-7 hours a day. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Wow that is terrible about the insurance!
