We have the same issue for our laundry door. We were quite surprised the laundry was flooded

it almost reached out bamboo floors. Have you reported it to PD already? I wonder how they are going to fix it.

We have the same issue for our laundry door. We were quite surprised the laundry was flooded

it almost reached out bamboo floors. Have you reported it to PD already? I wonder how they are going to fix it.

Yes I messaged my site supervisor when it happened and then asked him to call me Monday morning. He came over that afternoon and said they definitely needed to work out a fix and that he was going to talk to his carpenter about it. He said a weather seal underneath the door AND on the outside (there is already a draught seal on the inside) might do the trick.

On the upstairs balcony door he thinks a piece of wood stripping might be the answer to block water flooding towards the house and to push it away onto the balcony.

I'm waiting for Stegbar to call me re the leak in the window frame which is a whole other issue.

@Waldorf_Grange_Build Wow what rough weather we're copping in Melbourne today - in a way its a good thing to pressure test the home for leaks and finding them so soon after handover! Presumably they're all fixable.

Bit of an update on our side of the fence.
As a reminder - we demolished in February, expecting a start in April (around now).
We are also building on our property that consists of two titles. We got notified last week that, to build over two titles, requires our build to go through town planning - and the delay will be up to 6 months. W.T.A.F????

We advised PD, back in January of 2017 (when we first went through sales) that we had two titles...no problem, no problem...but now, 2 weeks out from build commencement, they tell me that...oh whoops, we need to go through town planning if we want our extended garage....Now listen, I am only going to lose 600mm of my extended garage, but it grates me no end that they didn't know this back in October when we had tender, or hell, even January when we went to contract. They find out now????

Anyway, fair warning to all PD customers - if you're building over two titles you'll likely need to go through town planning.

We would have happily not demolished and waited until we got it all sorted, but now we're paying 2kpm in rent...so the delay will cost us over $12k.

Really, really disappointing that they didn't pick this up.
So, our garage isn't going to be as big anymore.

I get the sense that they aren't that good at anything out of the ordinary and assume that everything will be fine with council rather than getting out there and actually asking the questions!

Absolutely, our situation is a little bit out of the ordinary, so on one hand it probably caught them by surprise, but on the other, they knew we were a little bit different ...it would have taken one or two phone calls to council over the past 9 months to get clarity on it. Oh well, still no site start date....

How long after building permit do they start, usually?

Usually within a month or two. They must start within a year.

Another thing to look out for before handover....if the vents are the same colour. Executive heating want to charge us to swap this over. Whole house has creamy matte ones and then dining room has one gloss blue toned one.

Your facade and interior colours are very similar to ours.... seeing all of this is killing me! We haven't even started yet (contract booked 30th).... Odd question - what does the inside of your laundry chute look like? We are getting one and i am interested to see how it does from bottom to the top floor lol.

I’m peeved off that they are not the same color as our ceiling and light fittings. Hoping I can paint them myself post handover. Also, in my living room they have 3 vents and every time I look at them I get frustrated as one of them is not in line with the other two...

We have our contract appointment coming up on the 30th - does anyone know, if we wanted to change a window size/type, do they charge you the structural change fee/penalty?

Trying to work out if it is worth getting one or two things done or not...
