Just got a text message from AGL saying we have a gas bill to pay, who is meant to pay that? We haven’t had handover yet.
I’ve emailed PD but they’ve ignored it. My husband usually deals with them but is too busy at work this week and it’s such a minor issue I want to sort it out myself.

We haven’t paid gas or electricity during the build but now that we are close to handover it will be switched into our name.

I thought we were supposed to be paying the first $50 per month of any bills for water, gas and electricity but after that PD had to cover the cost? I can't seem to find that in my documents though.

I’ve never heard that. We are coming up to one year since site scrape and haven’t paid a cent towards gas and electricity.

Hopefully it gets reduced for you, Our initial quote was also based on drawings before they did any soil tests. I still can't understand why ours was so high, our block is totally flat, but apparently it's always more expensive when its a KDR.

Probably needed piers thats maybe why it was so high it can be common on KDR

So we had our piers put in a few days ago and I found all 55 of them bar 2, I only stopped because I was tired and they were hard to find.
Today we went to site and they have done more prep work, getting ready for the base frame for the slab to be poured into.

In the place of the two pairs, I found they had dug a hole. Now I think One pier was poured and when I jump down into the hole I can still see part of one.

Any ideas what the holes for or why they have dug such a big one?
This is at the front of our house, on the other side of the garage.

It's about the same size as a coffin - but not 6ft deep.

Is there a heavy load to be built in that particular area.Have a look at your design that might give you an idea
why they have done that.Is there a brick column going there?

Question for anyone doing/done a knock down rebuild. We are in the middle of getting our house knocked down. There is damage to the footpath that the excavator has done going over it. We of course have an asset protection permit for this.

I know we will need to repair this which is fine. I just want to see if anyone else has had to repair any curbs/footpath due to knocking down? I will call the council but I don't see the point in repairing it now when the build will start in 4-6 weeks with more heavy trucks etc around. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Its for the 2 pillars of your balcony as there is a lot of load transfered through there.

Our first BC was like this, our 2nd BC is awesome and always comes back to me within 48 hours. I think it just depends who you get.
The next time you email them, state that you would like a reply within XX hours/days.
I don't find threatening helpful, I don't believe it gets you anywhere positive.

Hi, No it's just a part of our facade, I guess they are putting mesh and concrete in there. At least I hope that's the case and our Slab Supervisor isn't part of the Mob and going the 'dispose' of any body's in the hole lol

What I don't understand is, how long can it take them to drop a quick email saying "we will get back to you in couple of days with an answer".. this is ridiculous.. How are we supposed to have a good relationship with them if they don't even care to respond..

Looks like I should bury all my expectations and let them bully me around like this

I’d be reminding her of their customer service standards which will already state acceptable response times - most likely same or next business day. You should be able to find a copy of the standards on the website.

So far, we hadn't had the urgency or need and I was okay with her taking her time to respond.

But now, we are deep in the process and $$$ are flying outta the bank, I think a little more response would be absolutely better. I don't believe in being impolite and would want to do the right thing..

I am just venting it out in this forum.. hopefully things will get better and I should get over this drama..

I usually send a follow up email along the lines of:

If it’s short and to the point but polite I almost always get a quick reply.

Sent one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning around 8:30 AM.

I am not sure sending one more follow up mail in the next few minutes would make me look like a crazy sob

She replied.. just to let you guys know.. the soil tests were completed late December.. and we will know more about the new plans and $$ when they hand it over to construction.

So finally the day has come, the site has been cleared, house gone, trees gone. I need to email some pics of the site to our BC tonight.
The only thing is, they couldn't find the stormwater to cap. The plumber couldn't find. I will let our BC know but has anyone had this happen? I am wondering if this is going to be drama or not? The site has been scrapped and everything.
