Any one have any tip or things to look out for in particular? Does it really take the full day? We haven't made any structural changes aside from some windows in the kitchen. What happens on the day? We had to clarify a few mistakes that were on our quote. This was where all our WOS selections were added in to the total. Some errors from Kitchen Culture etc. It took us most of the day as we went through line by line and anything we queried they left the room to try and clarify with the appropriate staff. Check your promotions and ensure nothing is being charged that you are entitled to for free. We had a few credits to arrange. The main tip I have is know exactly what your choices were and go through with a fine tooth comb as it is all on you to pick them up. Thanks, I am worried I will miss something. I really don't see why they can't give you the tender and give you a few days to review it. It's so easy to miss something when you are rushing to try and read it all. Good tip about the promotions I will definitely check that. At WoS our front door was coming up as an extra charge but our consultant said it was included in our promotion and we will have to check it at tender. You could attempt to ask your BC to email the tender to you so you can go through it the night before. They may allow it if it is ready? [/quote] Was a flat out no to me. No chance at all, even when I went and wouldn't sign the first time. I said I'm not signing unless I get to take the documents with me so I can read over them. The response was still bad luck you've got 5 days after signing. I'm pretty confident it is right a I went through it when I got home as well. Re: Porter Davis homes 14091Jan 30, 2017 3:01 pm Does it make sense for a tiny bit extra cat1 stone for a window reveal will be priced almost $500???? Just went to our contact appointment, you're basically signing what they give you and then they make changes and you sign an amendment post contract doc and if they over charged you then the last payment just gets reduced. Sounds like a lot to me. How was your appointment? Any issues, any cost surprises?? Re: Porter Davis homes 14093Jan 30, 2017 3:55 pm Nothing very surprising besides the extra benchtop. We only had to pay a bit over $200 to get the 6 star energy rating so yey for that I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the council to approve our setback because the house to our right has about 11 meters setback and we want 4 meters because anything more than that will mean we don't have much of a back yard so fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the set back something you discussed at tender? I asked our BC about this and was told it will be discussed at tender (surprise surprise). which is on Wednesday. I'm just concerned it may take a while to get a response from the council about it. We really want to avoid any delays. Our sales consultant said neighbours on both sides are 10m back. I'm not sure where he got his information but one of them is definitely not 10m back. I want as little set back as possible as I just see it as wasted space at the front. I'm hoping they can do it at most 7m back. Ideally 5 or 6 metres. I'd much rather have the space at the back where it can actually be used. How long did your appointment take? I assume your site costs hadn't gone up any more? Re: Porter Davis homes 14095Jan 30, 2017 4:06 pm The contract was only two hours, no more site surprises. I know what you mean, I don't know who checks these things but I checked on Google maps and my neibours are also way less than what pd put down, I only hope the council will not go off by what pd thinks it is but by what their records show it is. And yes, it might take up to two months. I don't get it at all... Why couldn't they request the dispansation right after sales? All of these things just push back the build. I was happy thinking we will build in summer so will be less delays but it looks like we might hit winter by the time everything starts.. Re: Porter Davis homes 14096Jan 30, 2017 4:11 pm I really don't know. Surely they know these things take time, and if its going to delay our build a few months I know I'll be tempted to say oh don't worry about it then, knowing I will later regret it. Re: Porter Davis homes 14097Jan 30, 2017 4:30 pm How can I find out what the required set back is? I have just emailed the council but is there any way to find out online? It's Cardinia council. Re: Porter Davis homes 14098Jan 30, 2017 4:34 pm Not as far as I know. I tried to find it myself online but didn't find anything. I'm sure the council have these things after all they had to approve every single house built. If anyone have more information about the process then please let us know Re: Porter Davis homes 14099Jan 30, 2017 5:33 pm Naama Not as far as I know. Or is it different with Metricon. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Porter Davis homes 14100Jan 30, 2017 5:34 pm I think it is, but not certain. I don't have anything showing my neighbours houses so I don't know what they are set back. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 13067 Ask for references and speak to them.
