Our still hasn't and starting to think its been forgotten about lol Our base render was completed not long after brickwork and top colour coat was applied week of pci so there was no damage done. Chase up on it for sure it would make sense it would be done at brick stage, that's what we thought! The scaff was also put up last week to fix the side of the facade feature and we thought it would be left for the render. its now gone. lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Happy new year. What facade are you using again? Re: Porter Davis homes 13826Jan 03, 2017 7:11 am nikil Has anyone had Danielle as their BC? I've had three BCs (not the best experience in itself but very common) and one was named Danielle- she was by far the most junior (I won't elaborate) and she quit suddenly after emails and voicemails were left unanswered for a week and only found out when she left me a voicemail at 5pm on a Friday saying she quit and her last day as that day So unless she's returned, I don't think we have the same person. She left in Sept 2016. I know that BCs are under a lot of pressure and stress relentlessly and are not paid a great deal but there are some that just shine through anyways and are amazing. I've heard with the new CEO, things are slowly improving. Building Porter Davis Waldorf 44 (KDR) in Melbourne East Sales: Oct '15 Tender: Jan '16 Contract: Apr '16 PCV: ?? Site Start: ?? I'm hoping she is good, I've heard a lot of horror stories about BC's.. We are also building the Vancouver 33, starting in April. I really can't wait I just want it to start now! How has your experience been so far? We have our world of style app on the 10th of Jan. I'm really looking forward to this but not looking forward to the additional costs of upgrades. Did you have many upgrades? Kitchen, floors tiles etc? I think we will want to upgrade the floors as I don't love the ones included but I have no idea of the cost so I don't want to get to attached to any of the others if it's going to cost to much! We are also planning to upgrade to the colourtech in the kitchen as I love it! Does anyone have any pictures of which bathroom cabinetry is part of the quality inclusion for the lifestyle range and also tiles? I can't find this information anywhere. Re: Porter Davis homes 13830Jan 03, 2017 9:36 am Now I want to start a blog.. Just so I can go back and read over it when its all done. Yeah it's really hard as no one is able to give you pricing only tell you which is what category! We haven't had the best experience with the contracts being wrong over 10 times! Also the WOS was so hard as they rush you to each department for only around an hour (which isn't long enough to pick things!) beware also they will say just add it in and you can delete it later as this caused so much confusion when trying to confirm the tender and contracts as they had forgotten heaps and also left things in we needed deleting!! Re: Porter Davis homes 13832Jan 03, 2017 10:50 am Yea I'm dreading all the things that can go wrong and hold things up. My partner thinks that because the SC said we can have an April start date and the build take 28 weeks, that it's set in stone.. I am not very optimistic after all I have read on here. Our land it titled so at least that's one thing that won't hold us up! Re: Porter Davis homes 13833Jan 03, 2017 11:11 am nikil Yea I'm dreading all the things that can go wrong and hold things up. Reading your blog it looks like a bit of a nightmare process so far, I'm really hoping that it goes a bit more smoothly for us! We've got another 5 months before the land titles (hopefully!) so it would be great if we get everything sorted before that happens. We're planning on visiting WoS a few times at least before we have our appointment, my wife has already been up there once and seems happy enough with most of the inclusions we have with our promotions. No doubt there will still be some extra stuff to have to pay up for though. I noticed that you're going with Hebel instead of brick, was there any difference in price for this? Building a Kew 28 with Porter Davis Re: Porter Davis homes 13835Jan 03, 2017 2:06 pm JessikaV , How much did it cost to upgrade the carpet and underlay, I think we will definitely have to upgrade too as the standard is really not great. I hadn't even considered the hebel before but it looks really nice now that I have looked at it, from the website it looks like a single storey in the lifestyle range is $4,999. Single storey in the advantage range is $3,999. Single storey in the advantage range is $3,999. My wife didn't like the brick colours in the standard range at WoS so we're probably going to be upgrading either way. I think the cost for any bricks she did like in the upgraded range was about the 4-5k mark anyway, plus we would hopefully save some money on heating/air conditioning over the long term by going with Hebel. Reading the fine print though that $3,999 is only for one colour, so I'm guessing if you want a different colour then the price goes up pretty quickly. I haven't actually been to WoS yet but I'm finding the stories about how they won't tell you the price of the upgrades until the day of the appointment pretty annoying. Everyone has some sort of budget they need to work within, how can people do that if they don't know what the upgrades cost? Building a Kew 28 with Porter Davis Re: Porter Davis homes 13838Jan 03, 2017 4:07 pm We have just left WOS, we popped in after work and it was the best experience there so far as we were told the prices for anything we looked at. So very very helpful! Going midweek is the only time they can help with pricing as they only have the specialist people there during the week. The only problem is they are usually busy with appointments during the week so it's luck of the draw I guess as we have been mid week before. So lucky! we also went the first time during the week and didn't get pricing for the big kitchen things we wanted, just got it for things like shower rails (so useless lol). During the weekend was good to choose colors and products but very useless for pricing, they also told me I can get a color I wanted for a kitchen profile that doesn't come in that color so had to change to a different profile on our wos appointment, I am still killing myself wondering whether we chose the right profile because I wanted to keep the color. In saying that, we still have no costs for the kitchen we want other than an idea of prices I've gotten from other people on this wonderful site! I was the colonial colourtech kitchen cabinetry like in the display at WoS, so I'm hoping the pricing won't be to much of a knock as I really want it. I'm just very hopeful that they can give me accurate pricing on the day of our actual appointment. Anything I have asked my BC for so far has been met with "you'all find out at tender". I was just asking some questions about the electrical pit that WE have to organise so I can get the application right. I want to get it sent asap as it takes a while and I want to know what it's going to cost us. I'm trying to avoid any delays.
