We're still waiting for one panel of our stacker door to be delivered when all other windows and doors were installed first week of August... http://ourlondon24.wordpress.com I didnt know screens came on the stackers. Im assuming you guys paid extra for that? Sorry, I'm talking about the actual glass panel in the stacker door - the door was delivered without one of the three glass panels and it still wasn't in 8 weeks after the door and all windows had been installed... anyway a glass panel was finally delivered and installed by a third party glazier yesterday so hopefully now things can get back on track... http://ourlondon24.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 13563Oct 13, 2016 8:59 am melipen19 Anyone else have problems with windows or screens from A&L? We're still waiting for one panel of our stacker door to be delivered when all other windows and doors were installed first week of August... http://ourlondon24.wordpress.com Yep. We were waiting almost a month for the safety glass (frosted) to be put in our bathroom. For whatever reason just regular clear glass was installed. We also needed flyscreens to be refitted and our sliding door repaired, when they finally turned up they did nothing about the flyscreens and merely measured the sliding door for a piece of aluminium they will install to cover the damaged track. My SS complained right up to the state manager who whomever, they called me to apologize personally and sent me a Coles Myer giftcard as compensation. I understand the company has had a huge restructure and is very far behind in their jobs. I'm not confident they will be able to fix my sliding door for at least another month. Re: Porter Davis homes 13564Oct 13, 2016 9:02 am we got told by our SS that AGL were having major issues...lucky we have stegbar going in.... Re: Porter Davis homes 13565Oct 13, 2016 1:22 pm Bapontar I am going to contract next week. I have been contacting them to give me the draft of contract so I can read it thru prior to contract. But Porter Davis told me that I will only gwt it upon contract appointment and have only 4 hours to review and sign it. I want Darbecca to review the contract. How can they do it if I cant get it before I signed it? Any idea? Please share your experience. Thanjs I'm in exactly the same boat. They won't give me my contract to review in detail, then they want the money and you have 5 days to question things which isn't anywhere near enough time to go through it properly. I'm the customer and I'll pay my 5% deposit when I'm good and ready and not before. They say to bring payment to contract appointment, I'll be going to the bank to get it afterwards if I'm satisfied. Same thing with a stacker door and we also had the wrong Windows manufactured twice and the third ones one was ready before handover and the other after handover, then they were manufactured with single glazed glass not double so we then had to wait weeks for the retrofit and then weeks for flyscreens. Half of the issue is a&l and half PD. Push back on them that's all you can do Re: Porter Davis homes 13567Oct 15, 2016 3:58 pm walks Bapontar I am going to contract next week. They gave me a blank contract to go over before my contract signing Re: Porter Davis homes 13568Oct 17, 2016 7:11 pm We have bricks. Just a wee bit excited to see our render aswell. Does anyone know when the render usually happens?? Supposed to have plaster on Thursday. Apparently thats common to happen before bricks due to the lack of brickies around. Our render was done pretty much straight away but the final colour coat was week before we got keys so it's not damaged Re: Porter Davis homes 13570Oct 18, 2016 7:55 am shanis33 They look awesome! Hopefully at some point we will render the rest or maybe paint brick Re: Porter Davis homes 13573Oct 18, 2016 8:31 pm Has anyone here been required to go to local council and get their own planning permits? My Building coordinator contacted me and requested that I get the approval. Re: Porter Davis homes 13574Oct 18, 2016 9:29 pm Yes we had to get our own big pain in the behind as they told us way too late had no idea about getting permits and ended up costing us thousands for reports and fees to get it not to mention an extra 2 months of wasted time Re: Porter Davis homes 13575Oct 19, 2016 10:19 am Hi Everyone, I need your suggestion on this one. We are building a Rochford 34M with Balmain facade. There is a down-pipe on the feature wall and it spoils the look (Please refer picture below). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We had explicitly informed the BC during consultations to not have any down-pipes in the facade. She assured us that there were none and we did not notice any pipes in the drawings as well. I put the issue about down-pipe on feature wall across to BC and supervisor to check if the pipe can be relocated. They informed that there was nothing they could do as I had signed the drawings and pointed me to the small note mentioned on pipe. I'm not a design engineer and fail to understand to the detail Has anyone had a similar issue or experience? Even otherwise, please do suggest on how I can remove or relocate the pipe from the feature wall? Thanks much Re: Porter Davis homes 13576Oct 19, 2016 12:07 pm walks lizbf85 shanis33 They look awesome! My Building coordinator contacted me and requested that I get the approval. we got very involved with our council for all sorts of things... that could have been one of them. at one point my husband was talking with pd's engineers, the council and melb water to sort out our leagl point of dischagre issues. its rediculas, as a customer you'd think they would be doing that, as we had no idea what we were even doing. Worst case could you just paint it the same colour as the render making it less noticeable? might not be the fix your after, just a suggestion. Thanks much I don't think there is a lot that can be done about it or that they had a choice, it's the lowest part of the house and the water needs to go somewhere.
