Or after darbecca reviewed it? Thanks No we didn't, we paid the balance this week which is nearly two months after contract appointment as there were errors in the contract we pointed out and were waiting for them to fix and resend the 'Post Contract Variation'. Darbecca advised NOT to sign an incorrect contract unless you had the Post Contract Variation with amendments at the same time. Wow. Thats a long time. Thanks. One final question. Did you do some other changes or amendments on the contract day that different from qhat you have signed on tender day? No we didn't - they just had the contract, our drawings and our colour selections all bound together and went through each page one by one for a few hours. I pointed out their mistakes and they made a list of everything that they had gotten wrong and they popped in and out talking to other team members to get the items changed. Our appointment with Darbecca was the week after the contract appointment so we were not prepared to sign or pay anything until after that. You are entitled to take it away with you and show a lawyer if you wish so you cannot be forced to sign on the day. Just make sure anything you have previously asked them to change (via email or phone call with a BC) has been actioned in the contract paperwork. The onus is on you to spot it.[/quote] Wow. Thanks. Really appreciate it. So when is your site start? Re: Porter Davis homes 13555Oct 11, 2016 3:40 pm So, has anyone taken advantage of the legislation change which came into effect 1 Sep 2016 , which allows consumers to appoint their own building surveyors? PD have offered some credit if I go down this path. Can anyone recommend a good registered building surveyor and inspector, who can actually sign off on each stage of the build? Darbecca only offer inspection services, and are not willing to sign off on their work. I may need to consider them if I don't find a one who does both... But we don't know any reputable building surveyors and PD said 'unappointing' the existing surveyor could delay our process by six weeks.
