We're building the Montague 19, electrical was fitted out the other day but we've discovered a power point under the sink (in the cabinet) in our bathroom.
Is something like this normal? It's certainly impractical, and not where the power point was placed at the display homes.

Does it show as there in your electrical plan? We went through every PowerPoint with our consultant and chose placement. Some were in cupboards for things like dishwasher and oven.
The electrical plan is birds eye only. Not sure how we could have known they planned to put it there since it looks to be on the wall. It should be between the tiling by the shower - see the second pic.
Whilst it's a birds eye view there are different symbols for different height powerpoints. Have a look at your plan, you'll notice that some have no fill, the others are full black and there is also one that is half half. On the legend it has what their height is next to it.
No fill height 300mm
Half half 1100mm
Solid black 1350
There are also pretty strict regs to do with powerpoints in wet areas and you can't have a PowerPoint above a sink or even to the side of a sink within a certain measurement, maybe 300mm but it's been over ten years since I was a sparky doing Metricon and I can't remember exactly
I'd be interested to see a pic of that part of the electrical plan if you feel like posting a shot?
110cm is stated on our plan. That should put it at the height we saw in the display home. In any case I've sent the photo to my site supervisor with a request to move it.

Do you know what the measurement is from sink to power point if it was at 1100mm. The measurement is taken at a diagonal.
I would almost certainly say that it has to do with it being to close to either the sink or bath. They would definitely need to use an ip rated switch.
Still it's on the plan at 1100 and you have grounds to get them to move it/add another one in a more suitable place. Whilst not ideal perhaps on the opposite wall?
I'll be able to take measurement tomorrow and will let you know. Yes opposite wall would be better than under the sink if it can't be placed as we saw in the display home (sideways between shower and mirror).

Another issue would be where the stud is but any sparky worth their salt will be able to get one there as long as it's within regs.
What are the regs on distance from the sink? We didn't have a measure but it's gotta be more than 60cm away (diagonally), maybe even more. The thing is the power point in the display home is placed vertically, perhaps the electrician didn't think it would fit.
