Thanks to Helen everything gets sorted pretty quickly!
Met up with the SS today, they should have their inspector go through the house next Friday (30th of May) so I think we are almost there!
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 9704May 22, 2014 4:06 pm Joshcunno So are they going to fix the tiles for you? Hi Joshcunno, yes they will! It wasn't so much about the tiles as much the fact that I was not being heard by our SS. What is the point in telling him something is wrong when he is not going to fix it until it's almost too late. We told him the bath frame was too small atleast a month ago, he said no worries he'll look into it, the tiles have been put up on that frame and now the bath has arrived and guess what? the frame is too small! so now they have to cut both the frame and tiles to fix it. I know it's going to get fixed but he had an easier option. Anyways, everything will be fixed and the house will look perfect before we get in. Items considered 1) 4m Bench to be granite or marble, been told not to use engineered stone 2) 5 Burner inbuilt BBQ 3) Wok burner 4) Fridge 5) Sink 6) Drawers Re: Porter Davis homes 9707May 23, 2014 12:40 pm yay, our tiles are almost done. SS had left a voicemail to confirm tiling is done. I think there are little bit of finishing work to be done but overall looks good. Color of the kitchen flashback tiles are different to what they had in display house but it's not too bad. I have uploaded a pic of the kitchen in our thread. Did you get a sample? yes, they are 7272. They didn't give us a sample. But they have photos of all the display homes and their item codes. We selected the tile from PD online catalog which is what they have in the display home. Re: Porter Davis homes 9710May 23, 2014 5:24 pm Hi everyone, New here & building the Essex27. For those of of you who have/are doing your own flooring, particularly laminate floorboards, how did you go about painting/cutting the skirting as I've been told that it's just left unpainted and uncut. Re: Porter Davis homes 9711May 25, 2014 6:00 pm Here is more closer look on the flashback tiles what we wanted vs what we got.

Re: Porter Davis homes 9714May 25, 2014 8:52 pm ff may be right.. look in the corner where the downlights arent on..also one pic is taken closer to the other, lighting is playing a big part here Re: Porter Davis homes 9715May 26, 2014 12:06 am hash_nanay... go down to your closest National Tiles and get a sample. Then you can put it next to the tiles that are on your splashback and compare them properly. Re: Porter Davis homes 9716May 26, 2014 11:11 am For those of you building / have built a double storey, did you have any issues getting cooling ducts placed downstairs on the ground floor ceiling? - same they would with the heating ducts. My quote tells me I can only have ducts to the first floor but all of the PD display homes have the same system we're getting and have both heating and cooling on the ground floor. Little confused! Also did you all do your heating / cooling selections at Hopetoun? Re: Porter Davis homes 9717May 26, 2014 1:02 pm It's all happening for us at the moment! Today we received our building permit, council approved plans and the conditional approval from our bank, pending valuation. Just waiting for unconditional approval then off to site we go! Today we received our building permit, council approved plans and the conditional approval from our bank, pending valuation. Just waiting for unconditional approval then off to site we go! Arrr the lovely valuation..... Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! Our place got valued like 15K under so had to come up with more deposit or pay mortgage insurance! So frustrating when you can't do anything about it and the valuation does not take into account te value add options you put into the house! Re: Porter Davis homes 9719May 26, 2014 1:39 pm Yes we are another stung by the big undervaluation! $26 k under;( We are at allocation stage this week so will be watching madly for the first sign of a portaloo!!
