One issue I found today I might need people's advice on.. At my colour selection I had a pic of a display that I wanted to copy, this one: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now today I went and had a look and they have not done the top colour cupboard, they have done all cupboards the colour of the bottom, which doesn't look great. I have the colour chips and everything from my colour appt, but it seems there is no colour specified for the overhead cupboards, only the colour of the bottom. What are my chances of getting this fixed? It's not in the contract, but I assumed it was right all along after he looked up the colours and copied exactly while I was sitting with him, and then gave me samples to take home. This was the only room I was 100% happy with my selections, I really don't want it all the cream colour as it will look terrible Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Porter Davis homes 9272Mar 07, 2014 8:07 am COMMUNICATION Hi Hagar, I'm pleased to read that all been sorted and am sure that moving forward all will go smoothly. If anyone on this forum is having communication issues and you would like me to look into your concerns, could you please PM me and I will follow up with the appropriate manager. I fully realise that people often don't like to speak up but good communication is the key to reducing the levels of stress that are inherent when building a new home and leaving things at the status-quo can eventually lead to greater levels of frustration. The sooner you speak up, the better chance we have of getting your issues resolved quickly. I am here to help and you can PM me anytime. Cheers, Helen Porter Davis Homes Questions? At 5pm on Monday I posted here that PD still had not contacted me, at 6pm I put a request in via the PD website to purchase their most expensive house. It is now 6:30pm on Tuesday and still NO ONE from PD has contacted myself about my SERIOUS complaints however I have received NOT 1 but TWO calls by PD SALES about purchasing their product! Now when we were looking at buying we were originally going to go with another builder however complaints we heard from their customers made us change our minds. I am now considering visiting multiple PD displays and advising people to steer clear of PD as their sales support might be second to none but forget getting email / phone calls returned in a timely manor if at ALL. I expect a call from PD regional manager prior to midday tomorrow to discuss my complaints, also I expect PD to issue a formal apology which will be posted to this forum. I still have multiple outstanding emails with my BC who has still yet to follow these up, both had her manager CC who at first seemed good but I think that was just to get us off the phone, easy to see why the BC is shocking if this is the example that her manager sets. It would also seem that the BC has no idea what the reply all feature is despite being nicely asked to use this feature, as an IT engineer I even offered to come in an show her how to use it! I can also advise that this seems to be a consistent issue across the whole of PD as I have receive heaps of PM to see if my BC was the same as theirs as they are also having similar issues and not one of the BCs were the same!! Seams that PD needs to review it's whole admin team and their policies and procedures, as this UNACCEPTABLE level of service is sure to lead to an A Current Affair investigation! Cheers Hagar Very anoyed Ok everyone PD called me at 8am yesterday, and listened to all my issues, today the called back to advise processes been put in place to fix communications issues. All outstanding maters are being looked at, they have agreed to lay a concrete path at their expense to compensate issue with driveway poor. Retaining wall being looked at by site super on his next visit to site. In all I'm quite happy with the outcome. Let's hope all those who have PM me to advise they are having similar communication issues are also helped out by my conversation with the regional manager Thanks Haydn Good to see you have reached a happy outcome. The prompt responses, active monitoring of the threads, and positive outcomes here from Helen and Team PD are one of the main reasons I chose PD above anyone else. Helen, I have decided now to also send you a PM. Hope you can also resolve my (lack of) communications and progress. Otherwise you will always think about it and regret it. Re: Porter Davis homes 9275Mar 07, 2014 5:02 pm Thanks MummaDJ, I emailed my BC and SS today and they are looking into it. There was no colour specified for the overhead cupboards, but it did specify which direction the grain should go, so seems the guy just left out the line for colour. Me being a bit slow just saw the grain direction but and thought that meant the colour I wanted. Hopefully it gets sorted, I haven't had any real troubles so far I don't want to be kicking up a stink! If horizontal grain, they charge you more to match up the grain. If vertical, no extra cost. So this does potentially show you had selected something with a grain. Good Luck. Re: Porter Davis homes 9277Mar 07, 2014 6:42 pm ![]() ![]() Has anyone got the fly screen adapter for their stacker / bifolds? Was told that PD don't do them... but I confirmed separately with Stegbar and they do have it as an option. I know of someone else who did get them put it for their bi-folds. It is often easier for PD to say "No" to something out of the ordinary. If you really want it, then let them know that you have spoken with Stegbar and you do know they make them. In fact, you can check the specs, I believe they may even be built into the same frame as the door???? So can't be too different to install. Get all your info first though. Ask Stegbar if it is all in one piece. I got some pricing to install after handover for our bi-folds and it is around $1800-$2000. We have no flyscreen at present, the flies seem to be our friends!!!!! We are planning on putting an external fan outside the bi-folds - we have a batten light there ready to change over. Hoping that will limit some flies! Advice - with your bifolds, check your plans to see how they open. We don't like ours at all. It doesn't have a single door that opens first, when we open the door, 2 leaves of the bifold pull back. Because of the way it opens, there is no handle on the outside to get in. Very bad design by Stegbar. Hi there, I'm wondering if you could apply a slip bolt to prevent the second door from having to open? That seems like an odd design. On another note there are a few options to screening bi-fold doors such as pleated and retractable screens. Depending on how your doors are configured you can have one across the whole opening or 2 that meet in the centre or off centre. It is great that you have had handover - not so good that you have had issue... Look forward to seeing some pics. No news here yet. PCI still not scheduled and still a list of things to do.
