Long time no chat! So 5 months AFTER selections were made, hubby gets cold feet and decides he wants to change our tiles - EEEEEEK! Never mind the fact that the PO from HBC has been done so they are ordered and everything! Spent about 2 hours yesterday back at European Ceramics and fell in love with some tiles we didn't see 5 months ago.. Have emailed our CLO this morning and she is trying to get management approval so we can change. We want to change our main floor tiles to a marbley white and we want this to go through the laundry and toilet before (previously it was the ensuite / bathroom tiles).. We want to change the grout in the bathroom / ensuite to white; change the feature tile to this gorgeous one with ranges of different browns to match the bathroom colour scheme, change the kitchen bench top to a whiter colour and change the kitchen cupboard to a lighter colour!! OH DEAR.... Sure hope HBC will let us because we know hate our old selection. Big tip to everyone - do NOT go back and look at colours or you'll be in the same boat we are. And it's going to cost $240 from HBC and $150 from European Ceramics to change (if they let us!) Everything else thats been changed since then has been due to manufacturing ro supply issues (and I've come outthe better for it too!). Some nice looking work you've got so far! Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 109Nov 04, 2011 7:59 pm Things are looking great - so good to see soe photos! I hope you can make the changes, tiles make such a huge difference to final look. My fingers are crossed for you. Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 111Nov 18, 2011 10:19 pm So we were able to change our tiles and bench tops! Yay.. It really starts to move along from here until lock up when you can't get in to see the progress as easily! Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 116Nov 25, 2011 3:54 pm Looking good!!! I think we are at the same stage as you :) Our tiles should be going up this week!! YAY June 11 - Received House Plans July 11 - Settlement Day July 11 - Pre Start Sept 11 - Slab went down October 11 - Bricks/ materials arrived Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 117Nov 28, 2011 11:13 pm Lovely photos!!! nice to see almost all of us building the st. marks are starting. Ours have walls already, but I got a problem with the way they did the bricks. I know some are just easy to accept but other are just not. If I know how to attach pics I would, so you guys would know what I mean with our situation. I think ours is much worse than Vinturai in terms of brick laying. Also, I was shocked to see so much space left on our side..to be exact we have about 7m. Now, I'm regretting of not having the Ultimate Entertainer plan. I did not chose it because of the way our garage needs to be on the left side and since ours is a corner lot, I wanted the alfresco on the uneven side. Problem left is too much space. Don't forget to add more pics..even though sometimes it's stressful..it's still exciting watching it all come together. What tiles did you get this time? I forgot to mention, I choose different laminates and tiles for the ensuite and bathroom and now, I'm dreading that they don't look bad. You've really gotta get pictures up of yours Oh yeah, we're on a corner block too, but our land is only 432sqm, so it fit pretty snugly and there's not a lot left on the sides. Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 119Nov 30, 2011 5:38 pm Aloha - any pics? Any update on those tiles? Sheena - oh you silly duffer! You could have got the entertainer and flipped the garage or something.. But you learn And hey you will have lots of room in the yard now I do my photos through photobucket.. Create an account, upload pics from your computer then when you click on each pic they give you an img code which you click on and it copies for you then you just paste in here.. Give that a go! Would love to see your progress. Venturai - welcome! Just had a look at your thread. Cant believe the brickwork - Not impressed! I'd be keeping an eye on them, that's for sure! Well update from us.. I had a colorbond moment this morning: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Photo is a bit crappy quality and the colorbond looks so light due to the sun so I grabbed a small cut from the skip bin to bring home to show hubby haha I have had a big arguement with HBC! In under a month, the house next door went from being a cleared block with an outline of where the slab should go to plate high! Its a HBC build too and it took not even a month to get to that stage when it took us over two and a half months! Plus the fact that we were told we would be in for Christmas, then we would def be at lock up for Christmas and now it is 'well we can't really tell you if you will or not, but we are hoping you will be at lock up for Christmas' so I have made a very loud complaint about how the house next door can be going up so quick when ours is taking forever! Its been three months and we finally have a roof! Anyway any one have some good updates? Take care all xo My building forum: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=49650&p=756654#p756654 Building the 'Ultimate St Marks' with Home Buyers Centre Re: Building with Home Buyers Centre in Pearsall WA :) 120Nov 30, 2011 8:09 pm sdmould I have had a big arguement with HBC! Its been three months and we finally have a roof! Ever get the feeling "that other client" is just a bit more special? Yeah, us too. We were told the same thing. Granted, ours has slipped so we're only going to miss Christmas by a little bit, but it's the principle of the thing. We were told Christmas right up until about October, when all of a sudden it was a no. In the meantime, another HBC house across the street has taken the lead on ours; like what gets done in a week over there is now taking two weeks to do to ours. You feel like they care about the owner of that place just a bit more than they do about us. Still, we don't have it nearly as bad as yours though. If I were in your shoes, I'd be ropeable. Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one.
