Re: Hitting my head against the bricks! 14Jul 22, 2011 6:27 pm There's a couple building with Fairmont who got a colour consultant to help and said she was worth every penny, even doing up an image of what their house will look like. Check out the details on their blog: http://drewandrenee.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... tions.html And if you see a display home you like the colour palette of, you can always ask the staff what their colours are. Also, some brick/roofing places have free colour consultations (just beware that their advice will be biased as they want your business). Some colour tips of my own: pick a strong feature colour you love for a small portion of the facade, then choose neutrals (white, cream, black, grey, brown etc) in the same tone i.e. warm or cool (warm colours are usually yellow-toned, just imagine them going with gold jewellery; and cool tones are usually blue-toned, matching silver jewellery) and you can't go wrong. One last tip: colours for the outside usually look about three shades lighter than the swatch cos of the sun (even more pronounced if facing a sunny direction like north). Good luck! DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair I'm in WA and our sandy soils make drainage a bit easier but this is what I'd be doing. Dig down to your footings and let the wall dry out. Clean it all well by brushing… 1 5197 6 4358 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 9568 |
