As far as I am aware I cant pay for my infrastructure levy until settlement as the land is not registered in my name just yet. If anyone knows different let me know. I find it really strange that all the bodies you deal with, land, builders, conveyancers, council all seem to talk to you and use 'language' like you are supposed to be an expert. First home buyers are doomed. I often find myself dealing with one of the above who is rushing me through the process and trying to get me off the phone while I am trying to work out what the hell they are going on about. All of these people need to get better at counselling first home buyers through the process and not be surprised when people dont get it first time. Furthermore they should talk to one another allot better than what they do. Yeah glad I came across community infrastructure levy couple of weeks ago in this forum. Wonder if we need to organise anything else. I know water and electricity need to be connected for the build. Asset protection is being organised by our builder. Is there anything else for somerfield to be setup before build? I'm going to organise enrollment for my child in kindy shortly so the council knows how many kids are in the estate. So what do we need to organise before building? Some has mentioned building permit (thought the builder does it?), asset protection?, infrastructure levy etc?? Someone please guide us in the right direction and where to start. We haven't even finalised building contract yet and we need to get it done by June 30. The builder that we're dealing with is a smaller builder and they haven't built in Somerfield before so there's a lot stuff that we're finding out along the way.... Thanks in advance guys!
