We are slowly getting there. We have plans on their way and have been getting some estimates from a couple of builders. We are on a pretty tight budget and one builder I spoke to mentioned that if we were to build with weatherboard instead of bricks, the cost would be substantially cheaper.
We are building a modest 22sq home, on stumps as we want to utilise the slight slope on our block. Does anyone know if weatherboard is a lot cheaper than bricks and what are the things we should ask/look out for regarding weatherboard.
I like the look of weatherboard so I am happy to go that way. We are using colourbond roofing and we also have an old 1940's double hung window we are using at the front of the house, so I think the weatherboard could look great with that.
