Like it wasn't planned properly and the brickie tried to work around it. I wouldn't be accepting that, they should have moved the doorway. What is the defect in the second picture? It doesn't look great but is it going to be rendered? I would assume they are going to put the missing bricks back at the top of the garage. On my house they broke several of them out so they could put in some scaffolding for the roof, then they replaced them later. They do it so when it's opened it's up to a wall inside. I had them centre it, I'd rather it centred and be further out from the wall. Btherl no it's not going to be rendered, they put up fences around the whole place so it's hard to get to, and it was wet on the day. Now I look at the bricks the base looks terrible, mortar missing and plastic lining sticking out between the mortar and the brick. I searched a lot of homes last night and I haven't seen the front door and brickwork done like this, I hope it is classified as a defect in case they refused to fix it. Re: Off centre front door and other issues help 6Jul 06, 2011 3:16 pm Check your plans... see how the door spacing is on them Follow our journey at http://www.notgoingtodreamworld.blogspot.com Our build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48999 Re: Off centre front door and other issues help 7Jul 06, 2011 3:25 pm re: door spacing. Just a though - Do you plan on having a front door bell or something light that, you might actually need that extra space to fit that??? Re: Off centre front door and other issues help 8Jul 06, 2011 3:28 pm No ... no ... no ... no ... the door should be as your plan (hopefully centred) and the bottom three rows of bricks look as though they belong somewhere else - they do not match the bricks above. I wouldn't be happy - better say something before they go too far. Good luck!! However, they say they won't be stopping construction and will be continuing with the sheet on Monday.
