Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 741Nov 13, 2012 10:29 pm being a woolworths shopper I was keen to see them there as travelling over to the town centre on a 3klms winding round was something I refuse to do, I would rather drive to south penrith. Coles wouldn't worry me but woolworths do have the online home shop based at the town centre. So I thought they were going to expand it & since they wanted to renovate the town centre & it being a perfect time for them if they had another store to relocate staff. The town centre is the most expensive woolworths in the area, so yes coles would be a good option. Iga being franklins are being changed again something I read on the ACCC site. I always assumed woolworths would go at the ridge as woolworths always seem to built stores now in the middle of new housing estates. Ropes crossing have a coles & thats the first coles I have seen in a new subdivision. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 742Nov 14, 2012 6:43 am We shop at Woolworths Emu Plains with the benefit of Aldi for competition. We also do buy some Aldi brands. The Woolworths @ Glenmore Town Centre is a a great supermarket but yes, I am concerned about market domination, price and variety. It also bothers us about the tenancy arrangements that Woolworths can control. Why Stockland are doing this surreptitiously is also a concern. Did they approach Coles? IGA?, etc. It just does not seem balanced to have another Woolworths in there. This is despite us shopping with them elsewhere. I wonder what the suburb itself thinks of the idea? Has it been publicised anywhere? Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 743Nov 14, 2012 8:51 am at the time I purchased my land I asked the salesperson would it be a woolworths supermarket or coles & his response was 50% that it was the name I mentioned & he could not state for sure as they were still having negotiations. Since Aldi had a problem with the council over parking space with the town centre I am surprised they didn't jump at the chance to develop the ridge land. I don't shop at aldi but I do shop at IGA at werrington county. Sounds like ACCC are against woolworths so the future there would depend of enough negative feed back for them to rule. Stocklands may decide to develop it themselves if woolworths proposal is declined. Based on their comment it sounds like woolworths were the only parties involved. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 746Nov 18, 2012 8:30 am I read something on line that shows the bus routes, see page 13 https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21372568/Glenm ... 150807.pdf Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 751Nov 21, 2012 7:10 pm magoo1475 really!!! No NBN for me until January at least Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 753Nov 21, 2012 7:53 pm well you have more done than me & I am moving in the last week before xmas. Four weeks to go you should be okay. I have an antenna guy I use from victoria he will do my antenna between xmas & new year, the new kurrajong transmitter should be going then. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 755Nov 22, 2012 7:14 pm saw your house this afternoon, I think we have the same bricks (graphite). most trades don't come back until mid jan & the some builders close down until builders 21st jan. my builder booked the nbn equipment install & they then told him my NBN wouldn't be live until march, so now 3 months without internet. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 757Nov 22, 2012 8:39 pm yep that's me, you will have to drop around for coffee after you move in. you will be okay as your nbn has been done. A lot of people don't know the builder can book the internal install before you move in. That way you only have open an account with you ISP to get connected. doing it later it takes a month or so. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 760Nov 24, 2012 9:18 am eden Brae are like that, I have issues with them even though I know one of their supervisors well. My Builder cannot put up my back fence up until the owners do their retaining wall as they have dug out to my border line. They won't let the people do the retaining wall until they hand over so I am in a real situation there being their house is only at brick work stage.
