Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 762Dec 01, 2012 5:19 pm New Update - I found NBN at the ridge today pulling the fibre through my communications pit. So stage 16 will be live soon. NBN told my builder they wouldn't be doing it until march so I am delighted. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 763Dec 08, 2012 8:35 pm I feel a bit lonely in this thread, no-one else is posting. House all finished, retaining walls done ready for fencing & turf. Carpets & flooring starts on monday. This morning we were greeted with smashed front windows! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 765Dec 23, 2012 11:40 am moved in now & have a bigpond mobile broadband modem 3g that I borrowed from work while we are on holidays & its mostly on high reception which is bloody great. Only a little slower on this than on adsl2 speeds I was getting at my old place. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 766Dec 23, 2012 2:48 pm Congrats rosewood! Just in time for Xmas. Enjoy your first Chrissy in your new home Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 767Jan 04, 2013 6:14 pm Today I went shopping at the glenmore park town centre. Some time ago I stated I would never shop there but I have to take it back as the winding roads I objected were in the path between the town centre & mulgoa road. The town centre seems to be a nice Little shopping centre & I must say woolworths was lovely & clean the best I have seen so far. Now I would have to agree with ACCC another woolworths at the ridge is not needed. Coles or maybe IGA would be a nice change. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 768Jan 04, 2013 6:28 pm congrats rosewood on the move. it is nice to have different shops instead of all the same. our shopping centre they are building an aldis so that will be good Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 770Jan 04, 2013 6:36 pm that is great . do you have a pic of your completed home Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 771Jan 04, 2013 6:42 pm not a recent one, although I moved in the christmas week everyday I have been carting small stuff from the old house to glenmore ridge. Yesterda was my first official day not moving stuff. I am quite stuffed & having a little rest before I tackle all of my junk packed in the garage. I am also waiting for the kitchen company to come back to work & fix up their mistakes, so I am not able to use my kitchen to the full extend as yet. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 772Jan 06, 2013 11:03 am The ridge was a bit scarey last night, 3 fire engines driving around the estate. Not sure what was going on. Couldn't smell anything so I can only assume it was a false alarm. But 3 trucks all loaded up with firemen , I always assumed they sent 1 truck & called more in for support. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 773Jan 08, 2013 9:26 pm Congrats on moving in. Would love to see some pics. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 775Feb 06, 2013 12:54 pm rosewood looks like penrith council has now officially changed glenmore ridge from mulgoa to glenmore park now as it appears on my new rate notice. Did you get an increase in rates. Ours is up by $200 per qtr. now at $429. I think there must be an error our land is not that big. What is everyone else paying? Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 777Feb 14, 2013 7:47 am We have recently moved into Glenmore Ridge (mid December). Have had to call the fire brigade and cops a few times since then due to hooning and idiots setting fire around the estate. I am concerned about the lack of fire prevention in the nature reserve and have contacted both the RFS (which by their risk assessment rates the risk to property as high/almost certain). Contacted a person from National Parks & Wildlife as they are responsible for organising backburning etc but to date have heard nothing back. Been almost a month now, I will have to chase it up because I would like to know what they are doing for prevention. There was a grass fire last month that burnt a hectare out not far from the road. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 778Feb 14, 2013 7:58 am yes it was a bit of a worry at midnight one saturday night when I had 3 fire engines driving around the estate, found out later that they had set fire to a portable toilet. The hoods seem to around thursday, friday & saturday nights with their rocks & spray paint. They are even using the estate as a drag strip. Maybe if a few of us report to the police they might patrol into the area. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 779Feb 14, 2013 10:10 am The police at the time did say they were patrolling the area although I think they were mainly concentrated on Bradley St. I must've called them about half a dozen times and just got sick of it. I heard them again last night and a lot of the time hear them hooning around the nature reserve up in the back corner where the entrance is as there is no one living up there at the moment. I can't wait until more people start moving in, hopefully that will steer them away from the area so to speak. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 780Feb 14, 2013 10:26 am the graffiti is pretty heavy up at that section & few houses had rocks thrown at roof tiles & windows. I rang the council to get the graffiti removed from the retaining walls which took them a while but it was sprayed again. I had a rock through my front window but it was just before I moved in. I have seen kids up there on week-ends drinking, I am also hoping more people living up the end will steer them away. I moved from werrington away from graffiti & drugs but it seems like its there at glenmore park also. A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
