Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 06, 2011 12:15 am Help! We are still finalising the tender for our 1st home and have been advised that we are responsible for removal of excess spoil from the site. Has anyone else had to pay for clean fill removal? How much will it cost us? Our home is 14 x 21 metres and due to soil test we need to dig deeper for stronger slab (H1). They told us they'll need to cut an extra .600m so the driveway/garage floor pass council approval due to steepness. Can anyone tell me how much the removal costs are for spoil for a home this size? and who can be recommended in the penrith area?

You could ask to get them to stock pile it - for garden beds etc, but the only issue is that you might need council clearance on it + you will need to contain it... Re: Removal of spoil 3Jul 06, 2011 11:10 am I found this while doing a quick search for soil removal on google: http://www.somersoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70544 Should give you some idea of what to expect for dump fees, haulage, etc. It's much cheaper if the spoil can be used on a site nearby which requires clean fill - I think there's a website that has been mentioned previously on H1 which is basically an advertising board for fill available/wanted but I couldn't find the thread it was posted in. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs.
