Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 05, 2011 2:06 pm I signed contract with a builder through Homes Now. My house started from March and it has been done the base stage. Today, I received a email from builder, said I have to transfer the power on my site into my name. They want me to pay the power bill generated while building. I will go to check the contract to see if it has such item. But my question is, if I have to pay the power bill, how much it will be till my house is completed. $1000, $2000 or more? Is there any one has such experience? Cheers. Re: Did anyone pay the power bill happened in building house 2Jul 05, 2011 2:54 pm We paid for the electricity during our build, it wasnt very much though. Paid an initial connection fee of $80 which we werent happy about but had to pay it anyway and then 2 bills during the build. All up including connection fee was under $200 Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. I didn't pay any bills with our last build either. Re: Did anyone pay the power bill happened in building house 6Jul 05, 2011 6:53 pm We have been told we will be required to pay the bills throughout the build as well although they have said it will be minimal.. I will certainly be questioning it if its too high in my opinion.. Just think, if your paying the bill you see exactly how much it is.. If they pay the bill they probably put an 'included' amount in your original contract which could be any amount really.. Building in Adelaide, SA Slab poured 08/09/2011 Handover 18/01/2012! Re: Did anyone pay the power bill happened in building house 9Aug 26, 2011 12:50 pm it's a bit different i guess for us, in that we are in an established area and had everything connected up. What we did was liaised with our power/water suppliers advising them of what our intention was regarding the build 9so that we wouldn't be slugged with reconnection fees etc). We are still being billed and pay for this but then forward to our building co-ordinator who i understand will take this off of the final instalment that we pay. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20434 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors. Thanks 1 14256 2 15472 |
