Really reeeealllly ready to move in now! haha We did our bathroom/laundry tile picks a week and a half ago still waiting for the quote back. We also got a floor to ceiling tiles upgrade in the bathrooms included in the quote so hopefully its not to much of a shock to the wallet www.tinas-cakery.com Building a Monte Carlo with Fowler Homes. I hope you can move in quicker than your expectation Do you know that I'm very jealous with your beautiful bifolds as I really regret I didn't upgrade Can I ask did Fowler put insulation only in external walls? Thanks Re: Our First Build! *Fowler Build* Scaffolding is off! 128May 04, 2012 10:34 am Kiki- they only insulated the outside walls yes. Well we got our tiling quotes back and we are going ahead with the full wall tiling to both ensuite and main bathroom. That was roughly $1450 per room. But we figure we would rather get it done now and not have to pretend we will get it done later haha We wanted dark walls and light floors... Sticking to the charcoal/grey theme. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The laundry we upgraded the floor tiles to a charcoal black tile. Realise this has the step tread on it but it will be just a plain square tile of this. Love the texture and rough look of this tile! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So all up we made $4000 worth of upgrades with the tiles but are very happy with the colours Also got the main floor of the house quotes as we want that all tiled after handover that came in at a fancy 13k ouch But we'll see how we go. www.tinas-cakery.com Building a Monte Carlo with Fowler Homes. Thanks for post your quote on ensuite and bathroom . I also consider to use Fowler for full wall tiling to our wet area excluding Laundry. Do you consider to have full wall tiling to WC on the ground floor? Can you show a pic of our chosen poslished porcelain? Is that quote also from Fowler or other tile company? Thanks. Re: Our First Build! *Fowler Build* Scaffolding is off! 136May 10, 2012 8:44 am Hey Kiki, no we wont be getting full wall tiling to the downstairs bathroom. We don't really think its necessary. I dont currently have a photo of the main floor tile, but its basically just a white polished tile That quote came from Abruzzo Ceramics (fowlers tiler) www.tinas-cakery.com Building a Monte Carlo with Fowler Homes. I guess it is expensive I just have heard so many horror stories of cheap chinese tiles and guess I want to make sure there perfect lol Hi teanah, don't know if you've seen my warning before about polished porcelain tiles but to check they are first quality the packaging should have:- a manufacturer's name or trade mark, a work size, the country of origin, whether they are glazed or unglazed, rectified or whether they are modular or non modular, the mark of 1st quality, or the type of tile and reference to the conforming Standard. Ours aren't and we've got optical haze so I've written to the ACCC and Consumer Affairs to will see what they say as the builder/tile supplier deny any fault!
