Follow our Fowler Homes build: http://buildingourcastle.blogspot.com Re: Our First Build! Pictures inside! *Fowler Build* 88Feb 17, 2012 1:56 pm So since just before xmas this retaining wall has been an ongoing issue, the rain has apparently been stopping work on it. Fowler recently also received a letter from our council telling them this wall needs to be completed as it is undermining the neighbours land. After that they kind of jumped into action and have said we will be receiving weekly updates on the build and also a handover date should be given to us soon. Seems kind of funny seeing as there isn't even internal walls inside, but i guess the plasterboards don't take long to put up. Also got asked about what flooring we will be putting down in the kitchen as fowler need to know how high to get the kickboards in the kitchen cut to? We have decided on tiles sitting on a mortar bed, which we will need to get quoted up shortly. But to make this thread slightly more interesting here is a picture, not sure if you can really see but the render has been painted and around the entry way we have a feature colour. Bit hard to see with the stupid scaffolding still up. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ www.tinas-cakery.com Building a Monte Carlo with Fowler Homes. Your Bi-Fol doors look beautiful ![]() Can I ask which material you have used for retaining wall, what about its high and length and how much it cost? We planed to do required retaining wall after handover, but we have recently decided to request Fowler do it for us and we are still waiting for a quote from Fowler. Re: Our First Build! Pictures inside! *Fowler Build* 98Mar 05, 2012 9:47 am I don't actually have the quote with me at the moment but the retaining wall was around $4500 and there was a concrete base with steel and bessablocks up the side which were waterproofed and it was meant to be filled with dirt I believe, but now the dirt may be changed to rock fill because of all the rain we have been having and we need it to be completed asap.
