Re: Cost of water filter in kitchen sink 3Jul 04, 2011 8:50 pm Bam I did a bit of looking around as we need one, and the price varies enormously! All the way up to $1000 in some cases. I still need to research recommended brands etc Just had a quick look and some of the nice ones are pretty costly. Heaps of options, cold/chill/boiling etc. How hard is it to drill a hole in the sink to put in a filter? Re: Cost of water filter in kitchen sink 4Jul 04, 2011 9:05 pm I have a insinkerator on hold at C P $800,not sure on installation costs http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/insi ... c1100.aspx Re: Cost of water filter in kitchen sink 5Jul 05, 2011 3:13 pm I just had one installed recently. I can't remember exactly and can't find my receipt. I bought it myself at Bunnings. I got a Brita online active direct. I've used the Brita on-tap filter for years, so when I saw they had the inbuilt ones, I just went for it. I think the unit cost about $300. I've got an old sink that used to have 2 taps, and I've now got a flickmixer, so he just put the filter tap into the hole where the previous hot tap used to be and didn't need to cut anything. The Brita Australia site says that the Tap Doctor installs them for $149, but my local Tap Doctor never got back to me with a quote (I had some other stuff done at the same time) so I went with a different plumber. It didn't take the plumber long to put it in. I can replace the cartridges myself, and you don't need to call a service technician to change them. Re: Cost of water filter in kitchen sink 6Jul 05, 2011 4:37 pm we have one from bunnings too.. i dont think its a britta. its the one with the two cartridges, that go under the sink. Our apartment came with one standard, but needed a service tech to come and change the filter (ripoff) so we changed it to a bunnings jobbie.
