Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 02, 2011 2:20 pm Hi all Looking over my site costs budget and there is a provisional costing for a brick crossover. Have searched what a brick crossover is but why is there a charge for this of around $2500.....is this the labour cost (to the builder) for the laying of the driveway or is it a charge to the Council....we are building in the City of Wanneroo. Thanks MC Re: Brick Crossovers 2Jul 02, 2011 2:43 pm The crossover is the part of the driveway that is on the verge, which connects the road to your property. Builder's generally don't include this in the costs, and that is why it is in the contract as a provisional sum. You can have it deleted if you want to, but you'd then have to arrange your own contractor to complete it after handover. May be worth checking covenants on your property and check with the shire as well, in case they require the builder to do it. We had our crossover deleted and arranged for our own paver to do it, it was much cheaper. Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. The cost would most likely cover supply and labour of the brickpaving, as well as a limestone sub base which is generally a shire requirement for all crossovers in Perth. 2 8364 I should have followed up on this thread. So, the pier foundation wasn't large enough on the side it was leaning towards, and the NBN cable went through the pier, just… 8 12130 Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7231 |
