Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 01, 2011 5:53 pm Hi, We are building our very first house in Eynesbury and are now in the external colours selection process. We're pretty much set on the Homestead Tan bricks (by Austral) and we're wondering whether we should go for a Colorbond roof (free upgrade with our builder) or classic tiles. I haven't seen that many brick houses with colorbond roofs. It's lovely with weatherboard but bricks, I'm really not sure. What do you think? Any suggestions welcome! Caroline Re: Colorbond roof with Homestead Tan 2Jul 02, 2011 5:02 am Personally, I prefer Tiles, but it is a personal choice and depends on the look you are going for. We have tiles that are almost black as we have gone for a dark look to the house, and I prefer not to hear the rain on the roof - drives me mad! However, if you love the sound of the rain pelting down go for the Colourbond Re: Colorbond roof with Homestead Tan 3Jul 02, 2011 5:38 am Usually a Colorbond roof is an upgrade of at least $3k or more depending on the size of your home. I love love love the look of Colorbond... but, I hate the sound of rain!! If you don't mind the rain, then I'd choose Colorbond. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10227 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18579 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2890 |
