Re: Building with Sterling Homes 4Aug 05, 2011 2:52 pm Welcome other sterling homes builder! We are currently (about to finish next week) our build with Sterlings. Yes, starting is the hardest and longest part. What design are you building? Would love to follow your thread Re: Building with Sterling Homes 5Aug 08, 2011 1:00 pm Hi all, We started with the Macquarie Ensuite as the basic design and tweaked it a bit to suit what we wanted, we are first home owners and new to this process so very nervous at the moment but excited! As soon as the plans come in i will post them! Also the land settles today so should receive a phone call soon with confirmation! Newbuilder1 have you got a thread going? can you give me some dates on your progress? cheers, Block settled - 08/08/2011 Site scraped - 09/12/2011 Slab - 19/01/2012 Frames - 13/02/2012 Roof - 01/03/2012 Bricks - 19/03/2012 Lock-up - 19/04/2012 Hand over - 05/06/2012 Re: Building with Sterling Homes 6Aug 08, 2011 1:31 pm Thats a very nice design. We too are first homebuyers/builders and have learnt so much along this journey. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=45086 This is my thread. We signed up with sterling as we saw their design and fell in love with it and by chance the block we then purchased fit perfectly. So we signed intially in April 2010, block settled July 2010, selections sep 2010, site cut Jan 2011, slab laid feb 2011, Frame March 25th, Lockup May, Handover this wednesday. A few hiccups along the way but all in all not a bad build. Only thing I would fault is their customer service in the office or lack there of. Things are fine now as we are at the end. Re: Building with Sterling Homes 7Aug 08, 2011 4:00 pm Hey nb1, I found your thread, the house looks great! and it's huge!! Anyway hopefully things go well for us it is only a small house so we are hoping things will be quick but you never know. It seems each building process is different and the service you get is not the same for all, it's a bit of a pity. Good luck for Wednesday and post some pics once everything is finished. I spoke to the person who lives there at the moment and she was really nice and gave me her agents phone number so need to ring them tomorrow and break the good news! We also found three deep holes in the ground so obviously soil samples have been taken. I will post the plans tomorrow!
