Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 30, 2011 11:23 am We are looking at the fitzroy 244 to build unfortunately we don't have a display home nearby so are just going off the plans. I was wondering if anyone had any variations to the fitzroy plans, we would like to increase the media room to atleast 5.5m without loosing our fourth bedroom and fixing the entry into bedroom 3 so it's not coming from the powder room also expending the alfresco area to the end of the house. Any help with this would be appreciated. Re: Wanting to build with gj Gardner homes the fitzroy 2Jun 30, 2011 11:11 pm Hi Chelly1 I think the Fitrzroy is a great plan and am building it at the moment. The frame and roof are on and waiting for the bricks to start being laid next week. We also didn't get to see a display of it and just went off the plans. We did go and see display homes of the Moondarra and Ferrara to get a feel for their homes and measure up rooms of a similar size. We expanded the alfresco, removed the powder and moved the basin into the bathroom (and extended the bathroom), extended bedroom 2 by making the activity smaller. We are planning to use activity as a small study. I have the plans and photos of our progress so far on my thread if you want to take a look. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46892 All the best with you decisions ps. there is also a second Fitzroy being built on the forum GJ Fitzroy 244 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46892&p=710076&hilit=fitzroy#p710076 Block settled: 15/2/11 Contracts signed: 12/04/11 Slab: 30/05/11 Lock-up 29/07/11 Re: Wanting to build with gj Gardner homes the fitzroy 3Jul 01, 2011 5:26 pm We too are building the Fitzroy so feel free to take a look at our thread. Keen to see what changes you come up with. Hubby had an issue with the powder room entrance to bedroom but we decided to leave it as it was. We made some changes to the pantry shape and increased the size of the garage to add in some additional storage. Happy to help or answer any questions you may have Katrina Re: Wanting to build with gj Gardner homes the fitzroy 4Jul 02, 2011 8:33 pm Thanks very much Jem and Katrina both your plans are a huge help. I wish I there was a display of the fitzroy in Sydney as there is one in Tasmania I'm wondering if it's a good idea to go and have a look could save us money in the end. May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment. Definitely not signing anything yet… 3 9543 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 2218 Yes, i hace signed build contract and currently awaiting colour selection appointment. 2 29116 |
