Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 30, 2011 2:33 am Hi there, we've paid the deposit on our land and while we're waiting for the bank to approve our finance, we've started looking for builders and houses. Finding a suitable house does not seem very difficult, finding a good builder more so. From going through various websites, forums etc it seems that the best way to find out, how good a builder really is, is to ask some questions regarding the contract and they way they build the house before signing up. But what should I ask? What do I need to look for? What do I need to know? This is our first home and we've got no idea. So far I've come up with the following questions: - How many construction sites does the SS supervise? - How many different SS will there be during the construction? - How often can we visit the construction to check on progress/quality? Any others? Love to hear them, let me know what you think is important to ask.
