It is so hard being so out of control and just hoping things happen on time. The outside of your house is looking absolutely stunning Just think in a very short time, you will be living in your beautiful house. I actually hate going up to see the house as it depresses me at the lack of work being done. I just bumped into the ss at the house down the street. It nearly ended up in an argument as the word 'should' was said yet again. I ended up in tears because the reality of having nowhere to live is becoming too much for me. I have had enough and hate the house. I regret building with Ventura and would never recommend anyone build with them. Re: and so it begins... 204Nov 28, 2012 12:48 pm Ohhh JuJuB I feel for you.... Maybe try calling the CLO and let her know your thoughts or if you've done that already ask to speak to your SS's supervisor... (area supervisor) I totally understand your stress's about being stranded with no where to live if the house is not ready in time I am soo glad we didnt end up building with Ventura and chose Redink instead.... thank god Re: and so it begins... 205Dec 01, 2012 4:11 pm JuJuB HUGS TO YOU We dont have much choice in the style homes we love,as you know i had a drama about some tiles & now here at the end as well. I would build with them again, but this time i would put a clause in about the timeframe & them paying us an amount if they go over that. Infact i would add it with whom ever we built with No one else had a house that come close,we just dont like modern square homes, that does not mean we do not like other peoples homes,we do,they are just not for us. I really feel your stress, but soon we will have homes we just love, the drama's will be behind us! I'm not kidding. Not sure if it's the stress or the baby hormones. I was booked in last week to have PCI with ss and have been hoping it wouldnt be cancelled. Seems everything else is. Our showerccreens which I was told would be in last Tuesday went in on Friday and the electrics were supposed to be done yesterday but as of 2pm yesterday they weren't. The garage doors are supposed to go on tomorrow (I'll BELEIVE it when I see it!). I did get the last payment request and the bank guys said to send it to him even though it's not fully completed (he knows PCI is tomorrow). We've gone around the house and apart from a section near the steps in the garage, there is nothing major to do. Nothing to stop us moving in anyway. Anyway, we are out of this house in 13 days. So long as the electrical and garage doors are done and they have their final payment, nothing should stop us from being in before chrissie. Oh KA- they used bondall - jarrah on the bush poles and back poles. You can use it on all sorts of materials so I'll be painting the PVC pipes in front of it with the same stuff. I think you can get it at bunnings. Re: and so it begins... 209Dec 05, 2012 10:32 am @ the hair, gee what building a house does to us,take care Thanks for the info,do you mind telling us how much it was for the extra verandahs, salesman quoted $8,000 to double the size of the alfresco,as we hadn't decided on the pool area & outdoor kitchen plan yet we left it for the moment. I so hope the time frame works for you,i will be WTF!!!! if you are in before us,you know i wish you the best & hope you are. We have sortta decided to do a run of lawn across the front of the house, seeing your's & some out in the estate i just love the look of the lawn running straight up to the house. I have switched my ideas so much ,splitting the front into 2 different garden styles, native with a pond, then roses etc,see how it works out when we are in,at least we have decided on the path to the front door. Hope you get good news soon Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper! For the back verandah, I can't find she it is itemized. It was a total cost for all the rhs changes so sorry, I can't give you the cost for it. PCI went well but I found out that the conduit for the phone run in is broken about 35 mt in so they need to dig it up to fix it. Just minor scratches but the problem is a small dent in the bathroom cupboard. Ss says it will take about a week and a half to get done if they don't have one in stock. I said surely that won't prevent us moving in. He says it depends on is boss and our clo. I was a bit stunned. Surely that can be done within the defect liability period? The ss said the bank will probably make payment within the week so I said I can then pick up the keys. He said they have 10 days to do the list. I cannot for the life of me find anywhere where it is contracted they have 10 days. Re: and so it begins... 211Dec 06, 2012 6:57 pm Well thats not too bad then re PCI. We found a chip out of a door, well SS did,he ran his hands over each edge, but i was looking & he nearly didn't put the chip on the list,he was closing the door when i said "whats that" Caught One of the tradies must have done it,he said they dont report them because they have to pay for the changed door or such, yep they replace the whole thing Nah,why should it stop you moving in The 10dy thing is written somewhere,i've seen it,atm i'm saying alot of things that are wrong,my heads just so over loaded it not funny! He had the pellet up and the panels and nuts and bolts layed out. Well we rocked up and everything was gone, and no garage doors We waited til yesterdy and still nothing. I rang our clo who informed me the supplier measured it wrong, it's too short, so they need to make a new one which means it won't be it until the 19th!!!!!!!That was it for me. DH, who doesn't get p'd off, got p'doff. Everything that we have dealt with fron them was brought up and eventually we were put onto the construction manager. His attitude can only be described as disgraceful. He couldn't see what our problem was as 'this is the building industry'. All he did was blame the garage door suppliers. He said it won't delay handover before Friday, they will just do it after. Sounds ok for him, not for us as we had all along planned to store our stuff in there so I could paint and we could get the floor down without moving furniture (I can't lift stuff due to having a really bad knee). It wasn't so much that that was the issue, it was the continual bad service we have received from Ventura. As DH said, we have a customer liaison officer yet how many times has she rang us? It's us ringing her to tell them things aren't done and asking when they will, only for it not to happen when they say. He gave us the usual that's what happens in the building industry bs. I stated how many times I've been asked to go to suplly owner provided goods for a certain time and day (ususally at 8 in the morning, manage to get a toddler and baby organized to get up there, only for now one to show. He said sorry that shouldn't happen. Well it does and nobody gives a rats. If they did, they would make sure it doesn't happen again, instead of letting it happen repeatedly. As DH said, nobody seems to be accountable at Ventura. They blame everyone else for their stuff ups and don't even explain anything to us, the ones who are paying them. As he said , they knew Wednesday the garage doors didn't fit- yet where was our call? I will be so glad when we get those keys. Not nly because after 18 months we will finally be in the home we signed up for, but because we will never ever have to deal with Ventura ever again. Re: and so it begins... 213Dec 08, 2012 10:26 am SH*T I would be PEED off also... btw Garage doors should have been put up at least a couple of week before PCI..... At least soon this horrible experience dealing with them will end soon.... Dont let it take away from enjoying moving into a new home with your family.... Re: and so it begins... 214Dec 08, 2012 12:28 pm And on & on it goes Oh girl i'm sorry, the blame game is wonderful isn't it! As marybond said, the door should have been on,ours has been on for wks n wks. It was specially made & i was worried about it but it all turned out good Did you read on my thread how the SS said now they are only waiting on the bank, the way i felt(recieving phone call about 9am inspection, ripping jama's off & flying out to house) hot n bothered & not in the mood for crap, when he said that i nearly lost it For us it was mainly leaving little jobs to do,how many times the guy that does bits n pieces came in n out still leaving thing drove me to a near break-down. The WIL need a corner painted for about 2mths,a cornice to the alfresco etc,it took so long it was unbelieveable,oh & the crap with the granite holes to the wastes took about 2mths too,in the end they were fixed by granite guy in 1/2hr. Plumber was just lazy inthat it was too hard to work the prob out,it was not a biggy for him but he just wanted to walk in do it up n walk out,Pfffffffft! Did not think outside of the box, what crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See we would still build with them, well i would, man wont, but i would add all the clauses in the world to contract, still love the plans,we dont have much choice here with that style. I am so sorry that you are still having dramas with them this late in the game The attitude of the construction manager is absolutely appalling! They were measured on the 1st nov but it was the 29th it was organized to Be fitted in the 5th. I asked why the delay when it only takes 2 weeks to manufacture, they said because they can't fit it if there is something in the way, eg brick pavers. Brick pavers were in the way but i had found out that the brick paver had been forgotten to be scheduled in. So, while the construction manager can say its the suppliers fault for measuring wrong, I blame them for not booking us in in time to pick up the problem in time to rectify it. So now we will have to wait until the 19th to get the door. At least that won't prevent us from having handover. That is going to be on Thursday. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the things that need to be done on the list will be done after but DH was there yesterday ensuring our back area is completely enclosed for the kids and dogs and he said people were coming in and out all day. Our bank has electronically transfered the last progress payment. So now for us, we get the handover Thursday then the moving begins. We have phone and Foxtel and the fire booked in for the 19th - the day my stepdaughter and stepson arrive and hubby flies in from work, then the air con goes in on the 20th (our little mans 3rd birthday . Then my birthday on the 24th (37- wowzers! I'm creaping towards 40 way too quick!) then the family coming to ours for chrissie lunch then the tiler begins on the 27th so I've got to have painted those areas between Thursday and then, then carpet on the 10th of jan. It's gonna be a busy busy month and I can't wait! We have decided to put most of our stuff in the media room now due to the garage not being lockable, so I'm gonna hold off putting pics up until its all done and fully furnished. That will be around the 17th, when DH is home and him and bd can move everything into place. Yesterday I organized insurance n the place and it finally hit me. We are moving in. We really are!
