Browse Forums Building A New House Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 141Nov 02, 2011 6:04 pm It is very exciting. Ordered our blinds today and got the quote for the driveway and all our concrete. Wow, that was a fair bit more than my initial guesstimate!!! I can't believe you have handover so soon ... yours would have to be the quickest Coral build yet. ------------ Sent from my mobile device ... please excuse the typing missed cakes. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 143Nov 02, 2011 8:14 pm How much does a driveway cost on average? our builder is doing ours... so we have no idea...as its part of our package... Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 144Nov 03, 2011 7:52 am We got quoted $8,500 for a 12m x 6m stencilled driveway and then another $2,500 to colour concrete all the way down one side of the house which is 25m x 2m. He is kind of a friend of a friend of the family and gave us a small discount but it was the cheapest i had from about 3 or 4 quotes. Think they went up to $19,000 for the both as the most expensive. Great price. We're paying just under $12k for a 9m x 6m exposed agg driveway, 1m wide paths around 3/4 of the perimeter of our home and 43 sqm on the patio. He had to build up alot as Coral built us up so high, but it looks great. ------------ Sent from my mobile device ... please excuse the typing missed cakes. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 146Nov 03, 2011 5:28 pm Wow I didn't realize that it would cost so much, again I think we got a great deal with our builder for that size of house including all our footpath driveway pool etc... Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 147Nov 04, 2011 7:45 am We've been quoted $6200 for 92sqm of exposed agg. Including ramped access to our front door. Then $2300 for plain concrete at the back including 3 ramps for access. Then another $900 for cordon and to rip up and remove the gutter for a total of $9400. I had guesstimated around $6000 which admittedly was a pretty clueless guess as I had no idea. I only had the $4000 credit for the driveway we received when Coral deleted it from the package. Getting the chippie in to work up a price for the deck later so hopefully that isn't miles over my estimate too. Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 151Nov 22, 2011 2:18 pm Hey, haven't moved yet... gas still isn't on and there are a few things yet to be sorted out, like the dishwasher for one, and the driveway, deck etc.... Council holding us up on our 5m vehicle crossing at the moment. Concreter gets in there on Thursday (fingers crossed) to concrete around the back, so that our chippie can get in there and start building our awesome 35sqm Blackbutt deck! (Can you tell it excites me??!!) Hopefully council gets back to us soon so that the driveway can be done the following Tuesday. Then just fences and we can get in there! Put up our blinds on Sunday but didn't get any pics.... I know.. I know!! Very happy with the selection and how they look. Things have been crazy and the exhaustion is starting to subside! We moved in on Wednesday and are still unpacking boxes, but the house is in a pretty damn livable state. About halfway through the boxes.... maybe I little more than that and loving being here. Time to tackle the landscaping and getting lots of help from family and friends. I'll sort some pics pretty soon... Although they all pretty much just show off the mess!! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish.
