Are you guys doing your landscaping? What about your drive way? My birthday is in November. Would be great to get a new house as a presie. We might be pushing it though as our builder has to do all our landscaping, driveways footpaths retaining walls fencing and the pool needs to be finished. Which their Tilers were suppose to come tomorrow, but look at the weather! The only thing we will have to do is put plants in the garden beds to get our bond back from the body corp . Re: Latest pics PG.6 - Coral Stradbroke 251 123Oct 17, 2011 11:11 pm Just a quick note that I have some new pics on the blog.... Bumped in to the SS today on site by chance which was good.... he thinks maybe 3 weeks away from handover! Flooring to be in and done by the end of next week he thinks. I love it all. The colour you have on the walls is nice and "warm" and totally different to our strerile white lol. The same house but they feel totally different. Love it. Is the last pic of the outside the finished colour? I assume so, because the downpipes are on. I love the colours! It makes me wish I had rendered lol. Don't worry about the colour, it is fine. Remember how we had to change our brick colour and I wasn't convinced I like them? It is no longer an issue now. Once the landscaping goes in, it won't be significant. I am so excited for you!! Re: Latest pics PG.6 - Coral Stradbroke 251 125Oct 18, 2011 11:16 am Omg upnorth, 3 weeks till handover??? Yeah!!! You must be so excited... Better start packing, lol. Everything had come together beautifully in your new home. Re: Latest pics PG.6 - Coral Stradbroke 251 126Oct 18, 2011 11:35 am 3 weeks or so, TELL ME ABOUT IT... I don't want to pack! lol.... Still lots to organise... driveway, packing, decking, ramped access, fencing, air con relocation, blinds, packing, landscaping...arggghh.... this is going to be the most hectic Xmas ever.... 2 pretty junior labourers will be earning their pocket money this Summer! On top of that, we generally host Xmas for our family as it's easiest as far as access goes and getting around on the big day. Can't wait to get everyone around the big 10 seat dining table! Plus my Mum will be up from Melbourne which will be good. It's all feeling a bit daunting at the moment Follow our journey at http://www.notgoingtodreamworld.blogspot.com Our build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48999 Re: Latest pics PG.6 - Coral Stradbroke 251 127Oct 18, 2011 11:39 am Upnorth 3 weeks or so, TELL ME ABOUT IT... We delivered our oven this morning and there were quite a few goodies in the garage waiting to be fitted..... toilets, basins, dishdrawer, shower fittings etc. Our ensuite has been fitted out. Fold down bench seat is in, as is the bench and cupboard/shelves/drawers, along with the shower curtain rail too. All done very well.. All of our trades so far have done very high quality, clean work. There's a couple of snaps on the blog. Floors were finished off this morning. The ceiling insulation was put in and all the trash has been taken and the site was cleaned up a little. Our dishwasher isn't in yet as they opened it up and found a dent on the front. There was one in the garage but I think its the old one, although I couldn't see a dent. Here are some snaps. Question about your downlights, are they fluro or led's? Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 135Oct 30, 2011 8:50 am Downlights are fluro. No money is the budget for LEDs!! Follow our journey at http://www.notgoingtodreamworld.blogspot.com Our build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48999 Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 136Oct 30, 2011 12:56 pm We got the fluro ones that can be changed to LED's. Re: Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 137Oct 30, 2011 1:12 pm We are getting led's which will cost us an extra $10 per light. We wanted dimmable lights in some of the rooms and apparently fluros can't be dimmed. More expensive up front but worth it in the long run as the LEDs will probably run on 3 watts. I am so happy we opted for timber floors after seeing yours. Is yours a floating floor? What is it called? Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 138Oct 30, 2011 9:04 pm Tamara1975 We got the fluro ones that can be changed to LED's. We did too, plus we've got some with dimmable fluro globes, dimming seems to be working ok atm. ------------ Sent from my mobile device ... please excuse the typing missed cakes. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Floors in pics PG.7 - Coral Stradbroke 251 139Nov 02, 2011 9:14 am We reached practical completion yesterday. Went through and dotted the place out and our SS thinks we could get to handover by Friday. That's 12 weeks and 3 days after starting! Pretty pleased with that. Although there will still be a few things left to do. The replacement dishwasher for instance won't be in until the 10th. We can't get in there until all of our driveways and fencing are done anyway, so I might let our SS hold off on handover for the minute. Better under their insurance than ours!! We met with the Concreter yesterday too and nutted out all of our ramps etc and how they'll incorporate with our deck. Have to get a nonstandard vxo application in to council too so we can widen our crossover to anouilh 4.5 metres. Busy busy!!! So much so that we didn't get a chance to take pics! We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports with photos at every stage,… 6 7128 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4338 |
