Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 26, 2011 5:06 pm I am in the process of building/tendering with Metricon. We are being quoted $6000 for a new underground power pit... Contract states "Provide underground power pit to left hand front boundary corner of proerty uncluding under road/crossover/path borning and all relevant fees. Includes temprary power pole, power supply and authority charges for construction purposes until installation of live underground power pit." They also say it is a provisional sum. Surelyu based on what I have read $6000 as a provisional sum is 4 times what it will cost if we organise it ourselves directly through United Energy Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Re: Can we organise to have a power pit constructed ourselve 3Jul 10, 2011 2:42 pm You can organise it yourself like we did, but the power pit cost for us was already $2.5k, while metricon charged $4k. But you must get it in ready before they start construction otherwise they'll install the temporary power pole for $1k Re: Can we organise to have a power pit constructed ourselve 4Jul 10, 2011 3:10 pm If you live in vic you and call SP ausnet I did subdivision and used them Thanks for that, the PVC pipe is still about 40cm below ground level and it sticks out of the sand with no end cap or anything on it just open pipe, is this the finished… 2 10466 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
